Parenting is a full-time job and once in it, you cannot call it quits. These 25 memes accurately capture the sweet misery of sleepless parenting.
Parenthood and sound sleep don't really go hand in hand. As seasoned parents would tell you, it's one or the other till your kid gets old enough to move out. Forget beauty sleeps; it can be a daily struggle to get some shut-eye for even a few hours. There are countless things that could keep you from falling into the warm embrace of slumber—a toddler who kicks you awake at midnight in his sleep or a fifth grader whose last-minute project submission gives everyone dark circles. It takes ten lullabies, four bedtime stories, and a miraculous act of God to get the kids to finally doze off.
A parent's struggle with sleep deprivation is no new phenomenon. A look at over 3,500 babies shows that the same percentage of parents report sleep problems every month across the first year of a baby's life. For instance, 32% of mothers report a sleep problem when the baby is of 3 months, 25% at 4 months of age, and 30% at 5 months, reports Pediatric Sleep Council.
While accepting their fate of bravely facing sleepless nights till the kids grow up, parents can always humor themselves for the life decision of parenting that they have taken. The memes below have best captured how catching some sleep can be a rollercoaster ride for parents.
