Adele's appearance at the Super Bowl in Arizona became an instant meme after the singer claimed she was only going to see Rihanna's halftime show.
Who isn't a fan of the Diamonds and Umbrella singer, Rihanna? There's just something in her voice that makes one take their eyes off the Super Bowl. Too big of a statement to make? Adele, an amazing singer herself, would disagree and relate with Rihanna's fans.
Adele's appearance at the Super Bowl in Arizona became an instant meme after the singer claimed she was only going to see Rihanna's halftime show. The London-born singer is unlikely to be a huge NFL fan, but she managed to score a seat at the world's biggest sporting event on February 12, 2023, joining the likes of Jay-Z, Bradley Cooper, Blue Ivy, Sir Paul McCartney, and Gordon Ramsay.

Her attendance at the event at Glendale's State Farm Stadium was known well before the big day, especially since she stated that she was only going to show up to see what Rihanna had in store for everyone during the mid-game break.
The English songwriter, 34, has long been a fan of the Barbadian pop singer, stating in the past that "the progression of her superstardom feels steady, well deserved and extremely natural." She added in the same 2018 Time 100 profile for Rihanna: "Even more, she has designed and conquered an entire lane of her own. The innovative and groundbreaking world of Rihanna that no one else will ever be safe in and get away with copying. She makes her own rules and bends ours."

"I'm going just for Rihanna. I don't give a flying f**k," the Easy On Me singer told a fan Friday at one of her Las Vegas residency shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Adele and Rihanna have been friends for years, according to Page Six. Adele has previously called Rihanna a "gracious, loyal and funny goofball of an icon," adding that "she's fearless and full of all the right kind of attitude to be everything that she is and will be forever."

Although Adele will only be attending the Super Bowl as a guest, her name has been mentioned as a possible halftime performer several times in the past. Years later, Adele revealed that she had turned down the opportunity to host the halftime show herself. Still, fans have been keeping an eye out for Adele, who appears to have just arrived for Rihanna. "Adele really said watch me being the most iconic person there," tweeted @rosesforwIne implying that Adele had indeed stolen the show.
Fans cannot stop making memes out of Adele's fangirling over Rihanna though their sisterhood is long-known and much appreciated. "The Adele memes about not knowing the NFL rules while waiting for just Rihanna, are all sending meee," tweeted @TheMMB_. Here are a few more of the golden memes emerge online:
