Bride Thwarts Cousin’s Plans to Ruin Her Wedding Wearing a Revenge Red Dress: “Red Dress Means She Slept With the Groom”
Families are supposed to be your champion, but sometimes they are not. For a woman, this day was a "red" alert. A few days ago, a Reddit user whose account has been deleted since then along with the post in question, shared a story about her wedding in a community called "True Off My Chest" which invites people to speak their minds anonymously. And boy the story was doozy! The woman explained that her cousin had a thing with her husband. When she told her cousin about their wedding, she made it clear to her that she was going to wear a red dress to their wedding to inform everyone about their fling.
The OP says, "So my husband and my cousin hooked up before I met him 8 years ago. They met at a party and they hooked up that night but weren't interested in anything more so he told me it not gonna happen." "A couple of months later I met him and we started dating. A year later, we made it official." She then tells the community that her cousin recognized him from that night and demanded she broke up with him because it was "gross." The bride then goes on to say that she, too, found the situation gross at first, but since she was already in love with him, she chose to get married to him.
She then writes, "I got married a few weeks ago and in the months leading to my wedding, my cousin made it very clear that she's gonna wear a red dress. A red dress means that she's slept with the groom. I asked her not to do it because I didn't want gossip at my wedding and a reminder that 'I'm gross' but she said it was the truth." Realizing that her cousin would try her best to damage the day for her, the bride says how she even asked her mother what would happen if she didn't invite her to the wedding. Her mother said it would cause a lot of drama if she didn't invite her cousin. So the bride then came up with a brilliant plan, "I simply asked my sisters, my closest friends and my 3 bridesmaids to wear red. I asked everyone to keep it a secret. Honestly, I didn't want my cousin to have time to find another way to make drama."
She asked all the 17 girls to wear red, and everyone was looking very pretty in different shades of red. The result? A sea of red and one sulking cousin who wished she had chosen a different color. Lesson: Don't mess with the brides' squad. She then talks about her cousin's reaction, "My cousin was shocked and livid because she thought she would be the only one wearing red. She sulked the whole wedding and left early." We all know how red can be both the color of love and revenge, and for this woman, it meant both on her special night.
