Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner Give ‘Friendship Goals’ as They Joke About ‘Hawkeye’ Star’s Accident

New Year's Day dealt a huge blow of shock on Avenger fans when the terrible news of actor Jeremy Renner—aka Hawkeye from the Marvel Cinematic Universe—facing a life-threatening accident surfaced. Ever since news of his accident broke, fans of the actor have prayed for his swift recovery. Renner has since then updated his well-wishers about his recovery through social media. But what caught the attention of netizens was the light-hearted banter between Chris Evans, the onscreen Captain America, and Hawkeye over a tweet by Renner.

In a recent Twitter post, Renner updated fans on his recovery by sharing an image of him undergoing physiotherapy. The post exhibited gratitude to everyone as it reads: "I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30-plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens." But the emotional post soon turned into a fun banter round as Evans took to Twitter and reposted it with some words of his own.

Being old friends and sharing a close rapport, the Captain America famed actor wrote on a hilarious note: "That’s one tough mf'er. Has anyone even checked on the Snowcat??? Sending so much love." The tweet struck the right chords with Renner and fans as he wrote back to his co-star: "Love you brother... I did check on the Snowcat, she needs fuel."

Twitter users loved this exchange between the Marvel stars as it demonstrated how strong a bond they share in real-life. The 52-year-old Renner was run over by a seven-ton snow plow that came sliding down the snow. According to USA Today, it happened during an attempt to help his nephew with a car issue. The tragic news was on the radar for quite some time after the frightening accident as the actor started stabilizing.
Love you brother…. I did check on the snow cat , she needs fuel. 😉😂 https://t.co/xOOCNcNHNC

Fans retaliated to Evans' tweet by writinig: "Hawkeye is now the strongest Avenger of the original MCU 6 in my eyes." Meanwhile others like @realpabgames and @MarsTweep loved the friendship shared by the actors as they wrote, "I’m happy to see you in good spirits! You guys rock" and "Superhero locker room chat," respectively, sharing their love and support for the "friendship goals" set by the two stars.

Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in the snowplow accident in Reno, Nevada, in January 2023, according to an incident report filed by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. The Wind Rover began sliding down the hill after he forgot to put the parking brake on. Perhaps, high on his superhero instinct the actor forgot he doesn't possess the powers he does on screen.
The bad weather conditions played a role in delaying the emergency services by 40 minutes. Fortunately, the surgeries for chest trauma and orthopedic injuries were successful and the brave actor was out of danger. As he recovers, Renner's ongoing series Mayor of Kingstown is getting all the praises from fans and critics.
