Couple Invites Only Three People to Their Wedding Pissing Off Best Man’s Partner Who Kicks up a Fuss

Weddings are mostly considered family affairs where all your kin assemble to celebrate your big day. Whether it is a lavish wedding or a private one, the presence of important friends and family members is a must. People first make a wedding list before starting on all other arrangements for the wedding. If people are having small intimate weddings, they still end up inviting at least 50 to 100 people.
However, a groom recently decided to invite only three people to his wedding, which possibly caused an uproar in his social circle as well as in the Reddit community. According to The Mirror, u/GrumpyGroom92 shared an elaborate post on Reddit, revealing that he has only invited three people to his wedding. But one of the guest's partners is creating a ruckus because he wasn’t invited. The creator of the original post on the subreddit further explained that he and his fiancée wanted to get married this year and they both don’t like traditional weddings and don’t like being the center of attention.

“We want to get married primarily for us because we love each other – not for other people. If we had to have a traditional wedding with a lot of people, we would probably rather not get married. Therefore, we have decided that each of us will invite only one person (best man and maid of honor). For my fiancée, this is 'Maria'; for me, 'Frederik,' the groom wrote on the post. ‘Kim’ who happens to be a good friend of the bride was also invited since she takes decent pictures and a total of 5 people were supposed to be at the ceremony including the bride, the groom, the best man, the maid of honor and the photographer friend.
"Now Frederik's partner Roger complains that he is not invited. There was a fight between him and my best man, Frederik because of that. Roger says that he would not go to a wedding to which Frederik is not invited and he expects the same from his partner," the groom added to the post. Well, the bride and groom were reluctant to add any more people to their guest list and wanted to have the small wedding they had planned. The pair was trying to make the occasion as low-key as possible by not even inviting their families.

The man said that he told Roger that they were not willing to change their plan and invite him. In the end, he also informed the community that Frederick agreed to attend the ceremony. He also said that Roger was being unreasonable in this situation. The man asked the Reddit community to share their thoughts on this situation and if he is in the wrong or not. u/Outrageously_Penguin wrote: "If you were having a normal wedding, it would be rude not to invite his partner but this is obviously an exception. He’s being ridiculous."
u/Parsimonioussalad commented: "Good grief, you have one guest/witness each and a mutual friend who will take some pictures. This isn't a big event for other guests. Roger is picturing a traditional wedding. Frederik needs to point out that he's serving as more of a witness. Roger is not more important than your family who are also not invited to your very intimate ceremony." Well, looks like Roger was an entitled fellow who did not understand the concept of intimate weddings after all. We hope the couple could get married peacefully.
