Courteney Cox Channels Her 'Friends' Character Monica as She Cleans Her New 'Walk of Fame' Star In Hilarious Video
Courtney Cox has brought back her iconic character, Monica from Friends and how! Cox channeled her inner Monica at the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a video she posted on her Instagram account. And fans of the iconic sitcom are going crazy.
Last month, the Hollywood 'Walk of Fame' honored her with her own star on Hollywood Boulevard along with other renowned industry artists, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow. Aniston and Kudrow also joined Cox for the unveiling. On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, the Scream actress shared a funny reel on Instagram. She was seen cleaning her star and those belonging to her friends till they were spic-and-span.
Her is video captioned, "Someone's gotta do it," and shows her appearing with a duster and a cleaning product in her hands. The 58-year-old actress encouraged people to avoid stepping on the Walk of Fame stars as they passed by. Fair enough. But the twist came when she began cleaning the stars herself.
When a person passed by, she jokingly said, "Literally right on the star, you can go around," while she wiped away the dirt on the star left by people's shoes. This act perfectly mirrored her Friend's character, Monica Geller. Cox not only cleaned her star but also ensured the Walk of Fame stars of her pals like Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern and others shine too. How generous and selfless of her! She carried the Homecourt cleaning product to keep the stars top-notch. The Legally Blonde star Witherspoon hailed Cox for her efforts and quipped, "Thanks for keeping us clean, Court!" Kudrow applauded the clip and said, "Only the best thing ever." And we couldn't agree more.
The unveiling of the Hollywood star was memorable as Cox addressed the attendees "Friends taught me the importance of camaraderie and really sticking together." She added, "These friendships were at the most important time in my life and we went through so many things together. And it just taught me about being there for each other. I know that's the song, I'll Be There For You. But it's true."
The most fun side of the cleaning moment was comedian David Spade was upset with the Cougar Town actress ignoring his star which he received in 2003. He wrote, "Do mine! WTF." Cox secured a spot at the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame event on February 27, 2023. Her Friends pals like Kudrow and Aniston raised a toast alongside Dern and read their speeches. They also shared how honored they felt to be recognized as Cox's "co-workers, friends, family, and sisters," per PEOPLE. We mean, who wouldn't?
Aniston said, "To be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney. She is responsible for all of that. From the beginning of when we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving and interested in everything about you." She also concluded the speech by thanking Cox for the laughter over the years. "Watching you on screen and just in life in general, you're one of the funniest human beings on the planet Earth. Nothing makes me happier than a Courteney joke and always making us smile and thank you for enriching our lives with your work," she said.
Cox later shared with PEOPLE she felt great listening to her friend's speech. She added, "They're such wonderful friends of mine, and they're family to me, so it felt really comfortable. They're my sisters."
