When we look back to our childhood days, we often recall fun times spent with our father. For many, having fun with dad was pure bliss. What could be more adorable than a father giving his little daughters an at-home spa day?
Meet Mason Smith, also known as @Dadsocial on YouTube. He and his wife are an American couple who've been entertaining their family-friendly viewers on YouTube and Tiktok since 2020. Their content mostly consists of daily vlogs, and Mason spending time with his daughters. It includes "hairstyles, pranks, and just fun stuff," according to their About page. He describes his Instagram page as "just doing what dads do."
Smith has two very young daughters and taking care of their morning routine, especially doing their hair, is nothing new for him. In one of his videos—which crossed 1.8 million views on YouTube—he gives a full-blown experience of a spa to his daughters.
He presents his daughters with two options to spend the day, one of them being a Target Trip and the other being a Spa Day. His older daughter chooses Spa Day and gets excited about it. The little princesses are dressed in grey towels. Smith ties their hair up in a bun. He presents them with cucumber slices and puts them on their eyes while he asks, "Are you ready for this? How does it feel? Good? What do you think?"
As he prepares their face masks, the girls giggle away. He removes the slices and gently places facial sheet masks on their faces. The girls get a little fidgety and say, "This feels so weird!" So, he removes the masks. Then, he massages their faces with his fingertips and asks, "Are you feeling a 10?" He cleans their faces and comments, "Oh your skin feels baby smooth!"
In the next shot, they can be seen sitting beside the sink. He presents them with the same plate of cucumber slices and jokingly asks, "Would you like a snack?" They giggle a little and then he gets them changed into matching, colored outfits.
He combs through their hair, makes two ponytails, and uses an iron to curl their hair. The girls adorably seem to enjoy their routine as he comes in with red nail polish and paints their nails. They try to cutely blow on them but don't succeed which makes Smith crack up. So he uses a blow dryer to dry their nails.
In another video, his younger daughter had to stay back at home since she was under five years old and couldn't go for a facial with her mother and older sister. This simply called for another spa day with dad. He gets the little one all set for the spa and applies cucumber slices and a green facial mask on her cheeks. He massages her little arms with a cream. He cleans her up and applies moisturizer to her face. As he massages her little ears, they start to giggle. The girls definitely seem to enjoy these spa days with their dad.
Viewers were left in complete awe. "Every little girl should have a dad like the father of these two little ones," said Joan Biordi. "Your girls are very lucky to have such a loving father who cares so much about them. I wish more parents showed this kinda love to their kids instead of yelling and being quick to anger like most parents do, " commented BB. "I am happy for everyone who has an emotionally available father. That's a blessing," wrote Glaubensimpuls.
He has shot multiple videos showing tutorials on how he makes his daughters' hair and gets them ready every morning before school. He makes sure he makes them laugh with harmless pranks.
The father also received some criticism for giving his daughters fun temporary tattoos. He claims that the tattoos are completely harmless and were simply for fun. He seems to try his best to spend time with his daughters in all the fun ways before they grow up and face the world.
