Dad’s ‘Gentle Parenting’ Hack Is Cringe but It’s Working like Magic | “I Will Hit On Mom in Front of You, Loudly”
Gone are the days when parents used to scold and beat their kids in order to discipline them. With changing times, non-violent and scientifically supported methods like "gentle parenting" techniques have become increasingly popular among parenting experts, therapists and child psychologists. Gentle parenting is all about taking your time to truly hear and comprehend a child's feelings while establishing clear limits with them. We can say that the aim is to raise emotionally mature, healthy children through this new parenting method. Lately, one father has gone viral on TikTok for his unique method of gentle parenting, which he playfully refers to as "gentle parenting with malicious intent." The goofy man made the video with the intention of getting his older children uncomfortable enough to make them keep a check on their attitude. In the video, @bbebard advises his children to complete their duties without complaining and he has one interesting trick up his sleeve.
If children fail to complete their chores without complaining, this dad is determined to discipline them while doing something cringeworthy. “New rule. Whenever one of you starts giving me attitude, I'm going to start hitting on Mom," the dad says before speaking to his partner. “Hey there, sugar. How are you doing, baby girl? How do you feel about another child? I could rub your ankles real good,” he says with a smirk.
The tactic seemingly worked because the audience can clearly hear his kids groaning in the background, full of disgust as their father makes an advance towards their mom. “Are we gonna adjust that attitude?” he asks his kids. All the kids chime in together and say "yes" to it. “Are we gonna clean without crying or fighting?” the cheeky dad asks. The kids respond collectively with a big "yes" once again. “So, the next time I instruct you guys to do the dishes without fighting, you will do the dishes without fighting or I will hit on Mom in front of you, loudly,” he says. “I could start kissing. I love kisses.”
The kids plead saying that "they are sorry" as the man's partner laughs through the whole side-splitting exchange and she is perhaps a bit embarrassed by the man's unique style of parenting. The viral TikTok video has gained over 5 million views and over 1 million likes and countless comments poured in from people who appreciated this wacky style of "gentle parenting with malicious intent." One TikTok user wrote: "At that point, I'd deep clean the house, my soul and this Godforsaken world." Another person said that "despite being 34 years old, this tactic would absolutely work on them as well." Well, we can learn one thing from this man's video and that is: "Modern problems require modern solutions."
