Drew Barrymore Acting Like Helen Mirren’s New Canine Companion Had Us in Splits | “I’m a Corgi! I’ve Got Tiny Legs.”

On The Drew Barrymore Show, Drew Barrymore unexpectedly transformed into Helen Mirren's newest canine companion. During a game of Behind the Scenes on April 25, 2023, Mirren reflected on her Oscar-winning performance in The Queen (2006) and shared her fondness for the late monarch's furry friends. In response, Barrymore declared that she is not a human but rather an adorable little Corgi disguised as a daytime talk show host and confirmed this by barking loudly and obeying several of Mirren's commands. She might just be the most adorable yet hilarious Corgi ever, giving Corgis all over the world tough competition.
"I'm a Corgi!" Barrymore exclaimed. "I've got tiny legs. I am." Mirren certainly didn't think Barrymore was just woofing around. "You are a corgi," she validated. "You have the character of a Corgi which is very curious, very fun and very into everything. You are a Corgi. And you've got the Corgi-colored hair." This made Barrymore jump into the back of her chair in delight. "I can die happily now, thank you," she said as she swung one of the ties on her blouse like a happy-go-lucky dog wagging its tail. Mirren confirmed that Corgis have especially become "very fashionable dogs" in recent years, concluding, "People finally sort of recognize what cute little dogs they are."

Barrymore, channeling her inner Corgi, then let out a loud, high-pitched bark and began panting audibly with her tongue sticking out, prompting Mirren to laugh. The host added, "That makes me so happy." Barrymore definitely succeeded in her attempt to make us all laugh. Mirren then asked Barrymore to "sit," causing the host to come to a halt. "Stay," she added. "Come on!" she exclaimed after a brief pause. Barrymore then crawled over on her hands and knees to stand at Mirren's feet and pawed gleefully at her ankles, her tongue protruding from her mouth. She then took Mirren's hand in hers and held on as the two began to laugh. This puppy love makes us wish they left for a walk after the show and played fetch while enjoying some treats.
Speaking of humans wanting to act like dogs, a man from Japan spent about $15000 on a hyperrealistic collie costume to live the life of a dog named Toco. He doesn't only live in a dog costume but has gone as far as building a dog cage for him to sleep in. Caging himself reportedly makes him feel free enough to truly achieve his dreams of living the canine lifestyle. He even wears a leash and likes scratches on his furry head. We understand the love for dogs but to become one is well, inhuman (literally).
