We all want to look decent and presentable in our official photos but most of the time, they turn out to be the most hideous-looking photos we have. Drivers from Georgia had a different look in mind while taking pictures for their driver's licenses, though. The Georgia Department of Driver Services recently requested that people appear fully clothed in the pictures used for their digital identity cards because some residents looked naked in their driver's license photos. Baffling!

"Attention, lovely people of the digital era! Please take pictures with your clothes on when submitting them for your Digital Driver’s License and IDs. Cheers to technology and keeping things classy!" a May 23, 2023 Facebook post by the Georgia Department of Driver Services read. A meme of celebrity physicist Neil deGrasse Tyson raising his hands and wearing a deadpan expression was also included in the post. "Please wear clothes when taking your selfies for your Digital Driver’s Licenses and IDs," the meme read. People questioned whether the post was a joke but the department responded by insisting "it's real" and "it's insane" with a slew of hilarious memes.

The official Facebook page of the Oconee County Georgia Emergency Management Agency requested more information. "How much clothing? I feel like y’all are asking a lot in a vague way. I have questions …Enough to raid the fridge at midnight? Enough for a trip to Walmart? Brooks Brothers suit?" The DDS clarified, writing, "Shirts are nice! We want shirts for selfies." Georgia recently introduced digital driver's licenses and IDs that can be uploaded to a digital wallet on select smart devices. The department is in the process of adding DDLs and digital IDs to as many phone manufacturers as possible. Georgia DDLs and digital IDs are not a replacement for a physical copy but they can be used instead of a physical card at certain TSA checkpoints within Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and other participating locations. The Southern state is one of several that have agreed to issue digitized cards, including Arizona, Colorado, Maryland and Utah.

Facebook users were left in stitches after reading this very serious and official post. "Why can’t every government entity be this entertaining? I’m loving this post!!" wrote @Smith Ashia. "I guess not wearing clothes changes 'DDS Cares' to 'DD Scares'" joked @Patrick Henderson. "The fact that you said 'Please' makes this so much funnier! I can’t imagine what kind of photos you all are receiving," wrote @Fabi Torres. "I think y'all should petition for hazard pay. LOL!" said @Dawnne Henderson Greene. "Can you show us examples of what not to do?" joked @Lazaro Gamez. Well, rocking the beach look for your driver's license might not be the best idea.
