Elon Musk continues to stir controversies and raise eyebrows ever since he took over Twitter as its CEO back in 2022. But among the continuous string of his confusing and bizarre tweets, he made the startling revelation of Twitter being led by a new CEO. According to a tweet from Musk, posted on May 11, 2023, the tech billionaire announced that he has "hired a new CEO for X/Twitter and she will be starting in 6 weeks." The platform exploded with reactions from Twitter users as most of them had been disappointed with all the changes Musk has introduced to the social networking platform lately. But people wondered about the identity of the brand-new CEO for a while, and some of them even had some interesting and funny suggestions.

According to Associated Press, NBCUniversal’s Linda Yaccarino, an executive with deep ties to the advertising industry is all set to succeed Musk as the new head of Twitter and X Corp. “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Musk wrote in a follow-up tweet on Friday. He added that Yaccarino “will focus primarily on business operations.” A majority of people using the social media platform have been wishing for Musk to step down from the role of CEO for a while now, and it is evident from all the tweets laced with hate for the billionaire. But little did anyone expect him to actually hand over a share of his responsibilities to Yaccarino.

“While he’s stepping back from the CEO title, Musk is far from likely to step back from calling the product shots,” said Mike Proulx, research director at Forrester Research. Yaccarino, as per the outlet, with her long history and experience in the advertising business, can prove to be an ideal asset for the company. Before moving to Twitter, Yaccarino quit her position at NBCUniversal where she had worked for nearly 12 years and has generated more than $100 billion in ad sales since 2011 with her team.

But all the business jargon apart, the netizens had a gala time poking fun at the shocking decision of Musk. One person created a meme featuring all the former CEOs of Twitter including Jack Dorsey, Parag Agrawal Elon Musk and even Musk's Shiba Inu named Floki. Another Twitter user, @Jaytoofay wondered if the new CEO is actually a "hot anime girl." We don't know whether to look forward to the new turns Twitter will take under its new CEO.
