Employee Pranks Her Office After Getting Laid off and Wins the Internet | “They Are Gonna Miss This Kinda Energy”

In this economy, getting laid off from your job is probably the worst thing that one can experience. But since life is all about what we make of our setbacks, one woman has taken a wacky route to make her setback a tad bit entertaining for the netizens. @the.marchie on TikTok has gone viral for losing her job and reacting to it in the most creative fashion. When most people pack up their desks tearfully and walk out of their office after getting sacked, Madison Archibald had some mischief up her sleeves.
The 25-year-old sales and marketing professional left her job but not before playing the perfect little prank to ensure that her former employer can never forget her even after she is gone. Her viral video which has garnered over 5 million views so far shows Archibald narrating how she executed her devious little plan. "So I was laid off and Friday was my last day and I was the only member of my team to get laid off, which really super sucked. But to prove that I will never actually leave, I hid these pictures of myself all over the office with different things in the speech bubble," she starts the story.

"And at 3:30 today on Monday, I've been informed that this is what they've been doing all day," then she moves aside to display a whiteboard in the background of her video where her former coworkers have been collecting the pictures. But her mischief doesn’t end there. She has purposefully numbered all these pictures and skipped a few numbers on the photos as well, which means that the people in her former office will keep thinking that they haven’t discovered all of her pictures.
After that, Archibald erupts into contagious fits of laughter. Netizens have wholeheartedly appreciated how Archibald embraced an ugly situation by sprinkling some humor in it and most of them agree that this can be a good coping mechanism if one ends up losing their job all of a sudden. "The skipping number is absolutely cruel, I approve," one comment read. Another person wrote, "I just know they regret laying you off. This is hysterical. They are gonna miss this kinda energy."

A third person even shared a prank they’d played in their workplace when they left the job and commented: “When I left my old job, I left loads of tiny ducks around the office. I told them I placed 200 when I only placed 34, they're still hunting them down." Archibald even replied to a person in the comments who asked for suggestions regarding how they can prank their colleagues in a remote job setting and Archibald told them to try the classic ‘Rickroll’ method by dropping in Rick Astley’s viral music video for the 1987 song, Never Gonna Give You Up. Well, this lady on TikTok surely taught us what to do when life gives us lemons and the least we can do is make a humorous lemonade out of it.
