Employee Resigns by Giving His Boss a Hilariously Bold Condolence Card | “So Very Sorry for Your Loss”

Goodbyes can be difficult but not when said with a certain style. When Sam Baines, a 22-year-old call center worker informed his boss that he was leaving, he did so in the most hilarious way possible—with a condolence card. After all, losing a good employee is no less than a mournful event. Baines bid his boss farewell, saying he was deeply "sorry for his loss." If that doesn't scream self-confidence, we don't know what does. His iconic way of informing his employer that he was leaving made the rounds on social media after his colleague Hannah posted a photograph of the card on Twitter. The post read, "One of our team members handed in their notice like this."

The social media post has received over 69,000 retweets since it was first shared. It had also received over 401,000 likes. The post included two photos of the card, one of the outside and one of the messages inside. "So very sorry for your loss," it said on the outside. The inside said, "Thinking of you at this difficult time." Baines also stated that his last day of work would be July 28. Hannah clarified in her post that a month's notice was standard where she worked, hence the early condolence card. Baines explained why he chose to submit his month's notice in this manner in an interview with INSIDER. "I've been working here for almost a year now and had to hand my notice in as I'm going back to university this September," he shared.
My very intimidating former coworker had the same idea, just tastier. pic.twitter.com/Di3CeVAOlQ

"We are a really close team and have a fantastic manager, so we're always joking around and having fun. I knew I had to do something a little more creative when giving my notice to try and get one more joke in before I left!" He continued, "I knew my boss would find it funny so I wasn't worried about how they'd take it. I came up with the idea because I was always joking about how much they'd miss me when I was gone. Then thought a condolence card would be the perfect way to finish it off. It went down great and helped make a positive from an otherwise sad situation."
I know someone who did exact same thing , exact same card 😂 pic.twitter.com/2W8xyFiXC4

Hannah confirmed that the team found the employee's act hilarious. "Everyone was laughing and pretty amused with the card," she admitted. "It was done in good spirit and not as a petty reaction as some people think." This obviously gave people ideas."Loved all creativity. I never had a bad boss so I have always been considerate. The worst thing I have done was to inform that I was going on holiday.... and that I wouldn’t be coming back," wrote @marcio_delgado. "I know someone who did exact same thing, exact same card," shared @HappyHare90. In case you'd like to resign from your workplace in style, you now know how to.
