Family Pranks Granny by Regifting Her Own Stuff and Wins $100,000 From ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’

There is no harm in playing an innocent prank on your family members and there is definitely no harm in getting rewarded in cash for the said prank. According to WGNO, a Louisiana family went viral after pranking their grandma during Christmas and recording the whole incident in a video. In the prank, members of the Williams family wrapped up the old lady's belongings as gifts and fooled her into believing that those were brand-new Christmas gifts. But the great thing is they sent the footage to America's Funniest Home Videos and ended up winning more than $100,000.
The Williams family started taking things from around their grandmother's house and wrapping them up while they pretended to use the loo. The items were hurriedly wrapped as gifts and prepared to be exchanged on Christmas Day in front of the rest of the family. When it was time to unwrap the first gift, Carol Keating or 'Granny' (as she is lovingly called) became suspicious when she thought she saw an ornament that looked like one she already had. Keating is also notorious for giving gag gifts during the family’s White Elephant gift exchange, per the outlet.
On the big day (Christmas), the family started exchanging gifts and eagerly awaited Granny's reactions. "I got one just like that at my house!' Keating exclaimed. As the second gift was opened as well, the observant senior started to realize that something was off about those gifts. One of the younger girls in the video unwrapped a Michael Kors wallet and made the grandma quip that "she got something like that at home."
The Williams family could barely hold in their laughter but they kept pretending that they knew nothing about the mysterious resemblance of the gifts to the stuff that their grandmother owned. The video titled 'Gifting Granny's Goods' featuring the lighthearted Christmas prank was submitted to the ABC television program, America's Funniest Home Videos and they ended up winning big for making us laugh, too.
Paige Williams from the now-famous family told WGNO, that she and her sister had got the idea for the prank from watching other prank videos on TikTok. "My sister and I had seen a video on Tiktok about taking stuff from someone's house and regifting the gifts to see their reaction and we knew Granny was perfect for the prank," Williams told the outlet. "They each took turns going to the bathroom, then would take random items from her house and would hide them in the bag. We wrapped all the gifts up and told Granny it was a new game we decided to play last minute so we bought a gift for her to play with." Well, all we can say is that the video lifted our spirits and became one of the funniest voted episodes on the recent season of the ABC show. They totally deserve the grand prize for it.
