Time indeed flies fast. It was only yesterday when we witnessed a fierce performance from a little girl sporting a bald head in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things. Eight years after the series premiere, the little girl has grown up and is apparently engaged. We are talking about 19-year-old Millie Bobby Brown who shot to stardom with her role as Eleven and she has a glittering rock on her ring finger now.

According to Buzzfeed, Brown has posted a cryptic Instagram post where she can be seen getting a hug from her boyfriend Jacob “Jake” Bongiovi. Netizens could not miss the shining ring on her finger and join the dots with the post’s caption which read: "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all." Bongiovi is the 20-year-old son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi and he has publicly been in a relationship with Brown for three years.

Ever since 2021, the young couple has kept their fans updated about their blossoming relationship through social media posts and red-carpet appearances. In an interview with WIRED, Brown confirmed that she has met Bongiovi on Instagram. What seemed like a typical Gen-Z fling at first has actually been a lot more serious, it seems. Brown's fans are in utter delight as well as in shock at the engagement announcement. Their jolly announcement has sparked debate on the internet where a bunch of netizens have expressed their worry about Brown getting engaged so early. Others have cracked up a series of jokes which quickly started trending on Twitter.

@RinoTheBouncer on Twitter commented in Brown's defense and wrote: "Millie shared a beautiful moment to celebrate a special event in her life that she’s happy about, yet here are people either pretending not to know her age and saying she’s 7 or giving unsolicited advice and grievances about marrying young. Can people just be happy for someone without projecting their own failures onto them?? I’m happy for Millie. Wish her the best."

Most netizens started their tweet by writing how the actress is "19 and engaged" but they are way older and their life is a literal mess. Despite some negativity, other fans are congratulating them or responding defensively to remarks on behalf of the couple. Stranger Things co-stars of Brown also dropped in to congratulate her in the comment section. Similar to Brown's Instagram post, Bongiovi also posted two pictures on his profile where the duo can be seen enjoying the sunset and lovingly looking into each other's eyes. The caption of his post read: "Forever" followed up with a white heart emoji. 

Apart from the lighthearted humor which surfaced in the wake of their supposed engagement announcement, the duo has not officially declared their engagement news yet. We are keeping our fingers crossed to get the official news soon.
