Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals She’s Tried a Wellness Trend Involving Her 'Rectum' and The Internet Is Weirded Out

People go to great lengths to ensure they are in good health which includes following bizarre health and wellness trends. Celebs often lead the way in this regard.
Some of these trends are using crystal water bottles so that the healing vibrations of crystals infuse one's drinking water with strength and positivity or applying pressure to certain auricular points with ear seeds, vaginal steaming (that has already faced criticism from gynecologists), sleep robots, etc. Weird practices are on the rise.
Similarly, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed the wackiest wellness practices she has done in the name of health. During a podcast episode of The Art of Being Well on which she appeared on March 13, 2023, the 50-year-old actor shared a therapy she has undergone which apparently involved her rectum. The podcast theme revolved around the Goop founder's wellness routine and she shared her daily routine and divulged some other lesser-known secrets that are part of her lifestyle. During the episode, host Dr. Will Cole asked Paltrow what the weirdest wellness trend she's ever tried is. Paltrow replied, "I have used ozone therapy. Rectally." She started laughing, "Can I say that?" She also added in her confession, "It has been pretty weird but very helpful."

Well, to those unaware of what ozone therapy is all about, ozone therapy refers to the process of administering ozone gas into your body to treat a disease or wound, according to Healthline. Also, as per Cleveland Clinic, this therapy is a rather controversial alternate medicine. It is unregulated and can cause more harm than good. In 2019, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning against ozone therapy. It reports that ozone is a toxic gas with no known useful medical application in specific, adjunctive, or preventive therapy. The Shakespeare in Love star's response did not surprise her fans. It's been some time since she stepped away from the limelight, left movies, and founded her lifestyle empire, Goop.
TikTok users had a hilarious take on her therapy confession as one TikTok comment by @user4171747235743 read, "Forget about the hole in the ozone, have u heard about 'ozone in the hole.'" Another user, @artistlike1, criticized her and wrote, "'It has been very helpful.' I wonder what she needs help with." @aisvr90 had a hilarious comment about ozone therapy, "My dog too. I swear (with laughing emoji). He was sick, and the vet recommended it." Hahaha!!
In the TikTok video that was shared on the @dearmedia page, Paltrow also shed light on her daily wellness routine, all the while taking IV during the interview.
What??!! "I love an IV. I am an early IV adopter," she said. Paltrow also mentioned her fondness for Glutathione and Phosphatidylcholine. "They are quite hard to find and those make me feel so good."
The Iron Man star and her wellness brand have often been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Her products like vaginal jade eggs and the best-selling $75 'This Smells Like My Vagina' scented candles have made headlines in the past.
