‘Jackass’ Star Steve-O Once Duct-Taped Himself to a Billboard, Sparking Hilarity | “Imagine Needing Attention This Bad”

When it comes to pranks and pranks for publicity, for Steve-O, even the sky is not the limit. The prankster once went far and beyond to promote his comedy project, Gnarly and of course, it was meant to be a fiery headline. In a true 'Steve-O fashion,' he dangled himself from a billboard and it was a sight to behold.
On August 13, 2020, the Jackass prankster duct-taped himself from a billboard high above the streets in a parking lot on the 1700 block of Hollywood's North Cahuenga Boulevard at around 9:15 am. His 'unusual' stunt was part of a promotional strategy for his comedy special, Gnarly. The 48-year-old reality TV star is infamous for his big-time lunatic stunts in the show Jackass and this time he climbed to the top of the massive billboard and proceeded to tape himself on it. The eye-catchy advert, however, backfired and the worried onlookers reported it to the police. LOL.
Bypassers flagged him to the crime reporting app Citizen and firefighters arrived an hour later to rescue the prank professional. It may have been a cause of concern for people but Steve-O couldn't wipe the grin off his face. The man has a savage sense of humor. Steve-O took to his Instagram account to share the news. He posted photos of him taped to the billboard and captioned it, "I'm attached to a billboard right now and want to emphasize that a team of real professionals rigged everything safely. There is zero chance of me falling and it's important that we not waste any valuable city resources on this."
He added, "I'm happy to be hanged out and [really] want the world to know about this project I worked so hard on. It's called Gnarly and If you're over 18, check it out at steveo.com! Thanks!" Although his stunt failed, he managed to grab the eyeballs of many leading publishers and attracted the audience's attention. The entertainer, whose real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover, promoted his bizarre stunt across all his social media platforms and many passersby also recorded and shared the wild scene. After the firefighters arrived, Steve-O surrendered and began un-taping himself from the billboard.
It was quite a brawl in the parking lot due to his nearly naked appearance. The comedian only wore disposable underwear and a harness underneath. The LAFD (Los Angeles Fire Department) confirmed to be at the scene in a public safety alert. The guy even influenced the traffic lanes and caused a commotion. Netizens had hilarious responses to his jaw-dropping advert. An Instagram user, @kajira63 wrote, "I do hope you are going to reimburse the Fire Dept." Haha! Another user, @joshuascranston commented, "Steve-O has returned to his natural habitat. The world is healing."
@melonhammer_ said, "Imagine needing attention this bad." The LAFD spokesperson, Brian Humphrey wrote in the alert, "LAFD assisting law enforcement at an apparent single patient behavioral emergency, one person secured (themselves?) to a billboard." Steve-O is no amateur in attention-seeking business. "The star, who is also a dedicated animal rights activist, climbed a construction crane as a protest against SeaWorld back in August of 2015," per Daily Mail.
