Celebrities are sometimes deemed a bad influence for doing things the entire world already does. Fans erupted after a video of Jenna Ortega smoking circulated on social media. The short video in question, which was posted to Twitter on May 24, 2023 has since gone viral with nearly 30 million views since it was posted just a few days ago. It was captioned "WTF JENNA SMOKES? NOOO," and it had 29.9 million views till now. It shows the 20-year-old chatting with a friend outside while smoking what appears to be a cigarette. The post garnered tens of millions of views and tens of thousands of angry comments about the former Disney Channel star's unhealthy lifestyle choice.

One response however stands out amongst all the reactions and responses. Ortega's mom took to her Instagram story where she shared a meme along with 12 other amusing posts and her reaction has left social media users in stitches. The first image is a picture of Gollum, which sets the tone for the rest of what is essentially a PowerPoint presentation. The caption read, "Don't believe those lies about cigarettes being bad for you. I've been smoking for most of my 21 years and I feel great!" Gollum is followed by ten other smoking-related posts that discuss the negative health effects of smoking and how the smell of smoke is "repulsive." Natalie Ortega sure seems to know how to respond well. 

The 12 posts shared by Ortega's mom feature a quote by Toan Lam, "NO MATTER who you are and how big you get, always SURROUND YOURSELF with people who will tell you the TRUTH." The rest of the posts highlight the grave consequences of smoking on the body and health. It's the most mum response ever, replete with passive aggression and some sobering facts highlighted. The final post read, "A mother is always a mother. She never stops worrying about her children even when they are all grown up and have children of their own." 

People on Twitter loved her response. "This is what all mothers should do when they see their kids smoking," wrote @HoodieOrtega_. "Freaking funny and so, so true," tweeted @2Conflicted2022. "SHE SNEAKING FOR DISSIN HER OWN DAUGHTER THO but yeah, I hope she listens," said @Joefanatic23. "Lmfaooo, this is crazy! She’s for throwing mad shade," added @wstgoat7. 

The actress who gained massive popularity after her role on Wednesday had 100 thousand followers on Instagram unsubscribing after fans figured out she was 'lying.' Before smoking a cigarette, the actress was photographed on the street in the company of a friend and a glass of pink wine. Although she has attained the legal age for it, fans were disappointed since Ortega stated in most of her interviews that she lives an extremely healthy lifestyle, does not drink alcohol and follows a diet. Fans asked the actress if she had any bad habits during one of the streams, reports News You. "No, of course not," Jenna replied. "...I don't drink and I don't smoke, if you are talking about these bad habits." Well, fans need to probably stop viewing stars through rose-colored glasses.
