Emily Blunt, The Rock and Nicole Kidman Crashed Jessica Chastain’s Oscars Interview and Ribbed Each Other

Jessica Chastain might not have been an Oscar contender this year but she is surely receiving a lot of love on the red carpet. The Interstellar actress turned up at the ceremony in a stunning silver and black gown and while getting interviewed by Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover on the red carpet, she got a pleasant surprise. According to PEOPLE, fellow actors Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt popped up behind her and Blunt proceeded to hug Chastain from behind. "Who is this? Who is this?" Chastain asked. "I think it's Emily Blunt!" before she turned to take a look at the Edge of Tomorrow actress. "I knew it!"

Chastain joked that she is not well-acquainted with The Rock but knows Blunt very well. "We don't really know each other, but this guy," she said while motioning toward Johnson and gushed, "he sends me birthday messages! He watched George & Tammy and he sent me a sweet message." Blunt added that "Johnson told her how much he loved that drama." 

"Honestly, you are the most supportive, and not everyone is like that," Chastain continued. To make the interview more star-studded, Nicole Kidman was pulled into the frame by Chastain as she was walking by on the red carpet. "We're going to bring Nicole in, too," Chastain giggled and said. With the four notable actors standing side by side, Chastain joked about how "the four of them are going to do a movie together soon and it’s being written right now."

Interviewer Hoover joined in the gag and said, "I do see an action movie right here." Co-host Mario Lopez added, "Or a murder mystery." Kidman suggested it could be a "heavy drama" and Chastain suggested the movie will be "a comedy too." She also pointed at Johnson to remark that he is "really good at those." Well, we hope Chastain was actually dropping hints for us. Only time can tell. 

However, Chastain got attention at the big event for being the center of a few other funny moments as well which left the audience in splits. The actress was captured looking for her bag which she might have misplaced at the venue and was gesturing for some people to tell her if they have seen her bag or not.

The media also noted that she was probably the only celebrity at the event who was still wearing a mask. Some netizens applauded her for being conscious of the fact that Covid is still out there and some wondered why would she wear a mask at the Oscars. When host Jimmy Kimmel approached her during the event for a chat, she took the mask off momentarily only to put it back on soon after. We hope to see the Oscar-winning actress get nominated for her future ventures and all four stars, Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, Dwayne Johnson and Nicole Kidman together in a movie soon.
