The Kardashians rule the reality TV scene and without Kim Kardashian, we can’t even imagine reality TV being entertainingly dramatic. But looks like the socialite is planning to change her career and step away from the spotlight. She doesn’t even have any objection to quitting the hit reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. According to Page Six, Kardashian said that she would absolutely give up her career on reality TV if she can focus on becoming a full-time lawyer.

“I would be just as happy being an attorney full-time,” she shared during a panel at the 2023 TIME100 Summit on April 25, 2023, which was moderated by Poppy Harlow. Harlow had asked her if she would ever consider stepping away from the cameras. “There’s a lot that’s always on TV and a lot that’s always out there but I think my friends and my family know that we really cherish a lot of our private times,” 42-year-old Kardashian admitted. She is reportedly interested in fighting the injustices in the country’s prison system and considers it “the most meaningful work of her life.”

“I always joke with my mom — who’s my manager — I say, ‘Kim K. is retiring, and I’m just going to be an attorney,’” the Skims founder said. “I would totally spend more time doing that, cameras or no cameras.” Kardashian has been on the journey of becoming an attorney for a while and claims that the process has “opened her eyes” and there is “so much that needs to be done.” “It gets overwhelming,” she continued, “I brought my sister Khloé to a prison for the first time last week and that was really eye-opening for her.”

The reality star’s show Keeping Up with the Kardashians debuted back in 2007 and ever since then it has climbed the ladders of the best reality shows to complete a 20-season long run. Their new reality show The Kardashians premiered last year on Hulu as well. The socialite’s career has expanded beyond television in the past few years as she launched her Skims clothing brand and beauty brand SKKN BY KIM.

Kardashian became interested in fighting for prison reform in 2017 when she was advocating for Alice Marie Johnson. Johnson was serving a life sentence behind bars since 1996 after being incarcerated for a first-time drug offense. Kardashian met former president Donald Trump to commute Johnson’s sentence and she was released in 2018. Since then, she has gone ahead to advocate for the release of several other convicts and she revealed in 2019 that she has started studying to become an attorney.

But the road to a noble cause wasn’t easy for her as she followed the footsteps of her late father Robert Kardashian who used to be a famous attorney as well. After three failed attempts, Kardashian finally passed the “baby bar” exam in 2021 and plans to take the actual bar exam in February 2025. Some wondered over the internet about who will possibly hire her as an attorney and some even stated that "Kim didn't even go to college." So, it might be bizarre news for the netizens to know that Kim K is changing her career route but her fans will continue to support her.
