Lionel Richie Jokes He Can’t Go ‘All Night Long’ Anymore as His 40-Year-Old Hit Song Suggests

Seems like American Idol judges had some good fun in an interview with The View. 73-year-old musician Lionel Richie not only celebrated his hit song All Night Long turning 40 but also confessed to something NSFW. He appeared on the talk show alongside his fellow American Idol judges Katy Perry and Luke Bryan to promote the 21st season of the show. He jokingly admitted to not being as "active" as he used to be in his youth. Was this the 'too much information' anecdote we were expecting?

"Let me give you the first part that I have to really, really say to you," Richie said. "When I wrote All Night Long, it was truly all night long." He continued, joking, "Now my All Night Long is down to a fierce 15 minutes. But don't worry, we'll talk about that later!" Perry, on the other hand, didn't seem fazed by his response. "15 minutes, that's long, bud!" she said in response. "And don't you forget that, alright?" Richie shot back. If there was an emoji representing this entire conversation, it would surely be the winky face.
Richie has been dating his longtime girlfriend, model and entrepreneur Lisa Parigi who is 40 years younger than him, since 2014. They had met at a dinner party after being introduced by mutual friends and the two have been together ever since, according to his 2019 interview with People. From 1975 to 1993, he was married to Brenda Harvey-Richie. He cheated on Harvey with Diane Alexander, his wife from 1994 to 2004. "It was my fault mainly," he said of his first marriage's demise in a 2015 interview with Piers Morgan, per Belfast Telegraph. "The best thing was I fell in love, the worst thing was I was still married. Yikes." He adopted Nicole, 41 with Harvey and has two children with Alexander: Sofia, 24, and Miles, 28.

The Stuck on You singer appears to be more than content in his current relationship with Parigi. While talking to People, he disclosed that he's a "hopeless romantic." "I'm a man who’s been through the ups and the downs, the ins and the outs of love." He revealed about Parigi, "She's extremely beautiful but most importantly she’s smart and helps me deal with my crazy world."
According to the New York Post, Richie will take his music on a worldwide tour and ignite all the R&B fantasies. This year, Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind and Fire will embark on their Sing a Song All Night Long Tour from August 4 to September 15. "This is the tour I've been trying to do for years," Richie shared on Instagram.
Are you hoping he shares some more or have we had enough of TMI?
