'Cheeky' Royal Corgis Get a VIP Tour of the Royal Palace Experience at Madam Tussauds London Before The Guests

Some dogs do have it so much better than we do that we almost wish to be reborn as these four-legged lucky pals. The beloved royal corgis got a tour of the royal experience at Madame Tussauds London a day before the guests and public did on March 28, 2023. The brand-new experience took the guests beyond the gates of Buckingham Palace and gave them a behind-the-scenes look at royal life during this historic Coronation year. During their VIP tour, the patriotic corgis roamed the regal corridors of The Royal Palace and gave their paws of approval to some very familiar faces including a spectacularly re-dressed figure of King Charles III, according to London Post.
To commemorate the opening of the new experience, the Madame Tussauds London team has paid tribute to the outfit His Majesty wore for the first-ever State Banquet of his reign in November 2022. The wardrobe team spent 140 hours perfecting King Charles III's new look, working with medal specialists and collectors to ensure no detail was overlooked. The corgis' exclusive first look included a touching and poignant moment when they spotted the late Queen Elizabeth II's figure which has been reunited in the new experience with the late Duke of Edinburgh. Other historic members of the Royal Family who join them are Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth I.
Visitors to The Royal Palace will be able to pose for photos with The King and Queen Consort and the Prince and Princess of Wales in the Throne Room as well as mingle with some of the Palace's most notable celebrity guests. On the opening of The Royal Palace, Tim Waters, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said, "If you want to get close to the Royals and get a true sense of what it feels like to be part of the British monarchy, then this is a totally unparalleled experience. We all know the place corgis have in the heart of The Royal Family so it seemed only fitting that we invited these cheeky, charming canines for what was a 'pawsome occasion.' In a year that sees the official start of a new chapter in the history of the British Monarchy, Madame Tussauds London is giving our guests the opportunity to get closer to the Royal Family in a fun and immersive way that only we can offer," he added.
In case you're wondering if the corgis could have an even better time royally, yes they do. While preparing meals for Her Majesty, her former cook had to customize the royal corgis' menus a month in advance with the help of canine experts, per another London Post article. Darren McGrady, who worked for 11 years as a chef at Buckingham Palace, Sandringham and Balmoral, said the chefs were under strict orders to adhere to the custom pet plans. He claimed that in addition to meal preparation for family and guests, Michelin-trained chefs prepare lavish dog bowls of finely cut duck, rabbit and vegetables that change daily. Live life royal corgi-like.
