Man Cast as Dead Body in ‘CSI: Vegas’ After Pretending to Be Dead for 321 Days | “Gotten Better at Holding My Breath”

Being an actor doesn't always require you to look flawless and charming on screen. Neither does it requires you to learn your lines and give an Oscar-worthy performance every time. You can just take some inspiration from this man who landed a role on a TV show by pretending to be a dead body for more than 300 days on Tiktok. Josh Nalley, who is better known as @living_dead_josh on TikTok and other social media platforms, aces at lying down at random places, holding his breath and acting like a believable dead body.

This wholesome and hilarious talent earned him a role on CSI: Vegas where he is aptly playing a dead body. According to Mirror, Nalley hails from Kentucky and he has pretended to be dead on social media for a total of 321 days so far, all in order to bag a role in the sixth episode of the second season of, CSI: Vegas. But the man isn't stopping anytime soon as he continues to post videos on his TikTok, determined to get cast in yet another TV show or movie.

His viral videos worked in his favor as producers of the drama got in touch with him to offer him the role of playing a dead body and he earned himself an acting credit. "I got an email from CBS that said they'd seen me on TikTok and wanted to offer me the part. At first, I didn't believe it but they flew me out to California," Nalley said, per the outlet. "It turned out that Mario Van Peebles was the director for that episode so besides getting cast in the show, I also got to meet him, which was great."
He also spoke to Courier Journal and explained that it was his determination to bag a role in the show which opened the lucky doors for him in the industry despite having a lack of acting experience."I don't like speaking on camera but I can lie there and act like I am dead pretty easily. Having done more than 300 of these posts, I have progressed and gotten better. At first, you could see me breathing or the fake blood looked really bad. I have gotten rid of using the blood and gotten better at holding my breath," Nalley elaborated.

Nalley isn't satisfied with a single casting opportunity so he continues to play "un-alive" in hopes of bagging his second chance at any TV show or film where he can do what he does best. "Day 209 of playing un-alive until I'm cast in another TV show or movie as an un-alive body," reads Nalley's latest video caption where he pretended to be a dead body discarded in the woods. However, Nalley has been treating his passion to play a dead body as a side hustle and he doesn't have any plans to quit his day job which is being a restaurant manager. We sure hope to see this aspiring dead-body actor grabbing more acting roles in the near future.
