Man Climbs Malaysia’s Highest Mountain in Full Suit to Simply Prove He Can

What can you do in a 3-piece suit apart from attending an office meeting or a wedding reception? Think again because a tailor went against the tide as he took off on an adventure to prove you can climb the world's highest mountain in a suit. Yes, you read that correctly. Nobutaka Sada, an adventurer literally took brand marketing to unprecedented heights ( somewhere around 4,095 meters above sea level) to promote the suits his brand stitches.
All eyes were on Sada when he reached the summit of Malaysia's tallest peak on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Ditching the regular gear which is often gym tights and a t-shirt for hiking, the 49-year-old tailor sported corporate attire, a 3-piece suit with tie and leather boots with an office ID tag around his neck and a briefcase in hand to reach Mt. Kinabalu, Malaysia's tallest peak. The tailor's video went viral in no time and shook the internet with his unique mountain climbing attire which was actually his brand's custom-made suit. Sada took on the crazy challenge to prove his product was the best and certainly succeeded.
In a TikTok video posted by a fellow hiker, Sada can be seen climbing up the narrow trail along with fellow hikers in shorts, trainers and trekking poles. In a series of photos Sada took at the mountain peak, the dapper adventurer posted the news on his Facebook account. He wrote on Facebook, "We climbed an altitude difference of 2,300m in tropical humidity and rain, but SADA's custom-made suits kept us up to the level of being able to attend a business meeting." The brand owner added, "SADA's custom-made suits are safe to climb Mt. Kinabalu."
The internet users sang songs of praise for him and his out-of-the-box marketing approach. A TikTok user, @ariezwulf, wrote, "Great message to convey to your potential customers - SADA suits will keep you fresh so that you will get to your meeting in your best."@cctv8788 quipped, "Client be like, 'can you send the files to me on top of the mountain?' Power, bro."
Facebook users too were all praises for his adventurous effort. @Padama Landu, commented, "That's awesome! Congratulations!" For Sada, it's not the first time. The passionate brand owner has gone to extreme lengths to promote his products. The dedicated businessman has also gone scuba diving, skiing and fishing wearing his brand's creations in a never-seen-before promotional strategy. The man documents his promotional adventures on his YouTube channel, @ordersuitSADA. His innovative approach seems to work because people have begun to recognize him and his suits. On his way home, the tailor revealed that a fan spotted him wearing the famed suit he wore to complete the climb.
Some fans turned shoppers and asked him how to place an order. He also shared an anecdote from his journey and wrote, "In addition, we stayed in a hut in the middle of the mountain, climbed up a steep climb in the starlight and were able to see the sunrise at the top of the mountain! We climbed an altitude difference of 2,300m in tropical humidity and rain." Well, we are stumped by his efforts!
