What are the odds?
Whoever is writing the script of the year 2020 is having a ball of a time for things that one could not have imagined are happening left, right, and center, and quite frankly, even the most bizarre of things now seem mundane. Speaking of bizarre, a recent incident at Newberg, Oregon, has defied all odds and if the police hadn't arrested these folks, no one would have believed it even happened.
As reported by Fox32Chicago, the Newberg-Dundee police were chasing Randy Lee Cooper, 27, who was in a stolen Land Cruiser. As he tried to escape the authorities, he crashed into a Buick Regal. Cooper was apprehended and taken into custody. During the process, however, it emerged that the woman in the Buick was under influence and on further investigation, it emerged that she was also driving the car reported stolen weeks ago.
In a statement released by the police, the authorities said: "Officers took the suspect into custody from the Land Cruiser, but then learned the Buick Regal was also stolen from a completely unrelated crime that had been reported about three weeks prior. The driver of the stolen Buick was found to be under the influence of intoxicants and arrested as well."
The statement said: "The suspect driving the stolen Buick, Kristin Nicole Begue (25 years), of Newberg, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle."
As far as Cooper was concerned, he was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Attempting to Elude Police, Assault-3, Reckless Driving, and other related crimes. It was a shame that he wasn't arrested for being so damn unlucky!
