Getting a public marriage proposal from one's partner can be a dream come true for many as it is surely a bold and grand gesture of love. But if you are an introvert or if you simply hate having the spotlight on you, then a public proposal is a perfect recipe for embarrassment. However, TikTok user @derricksfunny has made it his life’s mission to propose to his wife in public and he has been doing it for several years. He has also been meticulously documenting all his silly and sweet moments to amuse and inspire people on the internet. His shy wife breaks into laughter and tries to slink aways when he proposes and he has to hold onto her until he gets a yes from her.  

In the compilation video, Derrick can be seen pretending to propose to his wife Kelly in public in different instances. Sometimes they are in a restaurant, getting stared at by fellow customers, sometimes they are on a beach or by the road. Each time, Derrick gets down on his knees, Kelly reacts to it shyly and attempts to pull away from her husband. But Derrick’s prankster persona doesn’t give up. 

In the first clip of the video, we see the couple in a restaurant with a group of friends and all of a sudden, Derrick kneels in front of Kelly, grasping her hand. It doesn’t take her more than a split second to understand what’s happening. "Oh no, not again!" Kelly says, trying to get out of her husband’s grasp as the sweet couple gets filmed by a third person. "Kelly, you’re my best friend," Derrick says, still attempting to grab his wife’s hands. "Will you please join me in holy matrimony?" "Stop, stop," Kelly says, laughing at getting proposed to for the umpteenth time by her husband.

He coaxes Kelly to "say yes" to his fake proposal and then he stands up to exclaim, "she said yes" as the other customers in the restaurant start applauding. The next proposal clip in the video is from an amusement park where Derrick gets down on his knees once again to grab his wife’s hand to propose to her. "You’re my best friend. I can’t live without you. Will you marry me?" Derrick says and gets the same shy reaction from Kelly. 

The final clip in the video adds a rather emotional note in the now viral TikTok footage where Derrick starts his proposal speech once more in another amusement park. Derrick brings out an actual ring to propose to Kelly as she is lying on the beach at sunset. Derrick exclaims that she said "yes" as the video ends. The TikTok viewers cannot get enough of these fake proposals by Derrick, wishing them happiness for the rest of their lives together. Well, the proposals might have been fake but they are sure charming and prove Derrick's constant love for his life partner.
