Man Has "Serious Emotional and Sexual" Relationship With His Car. We Are as Stunned as His Dad.

"How does that work? How do you have sex with a car?" the man's bewildered father asked as he tried to process his son's shocking revelation.

Introducing your partner to your parent is always a nerve-wracking moment. So much goes into making sure the moment is not awkward. But what are you supposed to do when your choice of partner is extremely unconventional?

A son introduced his car as his partner to his father and let's just say the first meeting did not unfold in the way traditional "meet the parents" do.

On the TLC show, My Strange Addiction, a man named Nathaniel broke the news to his father by telling him: "Yeah, uh, there's something pretty important I want to talk to you about. I'm just gonna come out and say it, I guess... I'm in an intimate relationship with Chase." Chase, by the way, is Nathaniel's car.

Needless to say, the father had a few questions for his son. He needed to know when this unusual relationship first began. Nathaniel let his dad know that it started when he was younger and didn't have many friends.

Nathaniel added, "I just started having those feelings more and more after I hit puberty and it just became more and more serious after that as far as the sexual side and the emotional side."

"Your car?" the dad questioned for a third time. Clearly needing some background information on the situation, the dad asked the question every kid fears. "So," the father asked, "how does that work? How can you have sex with a car?"

Without any hesitation, and still keeping a monotone voice throughout, Nathaniel explained: "Mainly it's just a lot of rubbing up against him. It involves masturbating as well."

To his credit, the father tries his best to understand where his son's unusual feelings stem from. He also admits that while he likes his cars and motorcycles too, he personally only sees them as objects and not something you can have an intimate relationship with. After a few moments of self-reflection, he also confessed that he was not there for his son when he needed him.

The video garnered a lot of comments since being shared on YouTube. "God this video is such a rollercoaster somehow it manages to swing wildly between hysterical, terrifying, and disgusting, and kind of cute (doing something nice for a car's birthday? you know what, I support that)," commented one viewer.

Another person wrote: "I love the fact that he not only has a serious relationship with his car, it’s also a male car and he explicitly states its gender as male." A third viewer commented: "The dad seems like a nice guy, and he's taking it extremely well and isn't cursing his son to hell. Every dad should be like this with accepting their child's sexuality. Good on you, sir."
