An Algerian groom was, allegedly, stunned to discover that the woman who he had married was, in fact, not as pretty as he had been led to believe. As reported by Emirates247, he took his wife to court on the very next day of his marriage and accused her of cheating him.

The groom is seeking $20,000 in damages and according to reports, "he told the court in the capital Algiers that he was shocked when he got up the next morning and found that his wife looked so different, that he could not recognize her." Such was the horror that the wife instilled in him that he swore in court that she looked like a "thief who came to steal his apartment."

The report noted: "He said he was deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with makeup before their marriage."

It was reported that: "He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief."

The man was so offended that according to reports, "The groom told court that he is demanding $20,000 damages for his psychological suffering." And you thought your wife was ugly!
