"Tell me you wanted to be a romance author and not a journalist without telling me."
At the 95th Academy Awards, we witnessed Michelle Yeoh creating history by becoming the first Asian woman to win the Best Actress award. But on Twitter, we had to witness a news agency drop a rather questionable tweet on the Everything Everywhere All At Once actress. The Associated Press came under fire from countless netizens for tweeting about Yeoh and Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett’s "muscle-bound arms locked in an embrace." The now-deleted tweet was even funnier because the outlet attached a picture of Yeoh getting embraced by Florence Pugh instead of Bassett.
According to Fox News, The Associated Press was tweeting about various moments and interactions between celebrities at Vanity Fair’s annual post-Oscar party after the 95th Annual Academy Awards ceremony wrapped up. While doing coverage of the glamorous night, the outlet’s Twitter account shared a picture of Yeoh and Pugh hugging and wrote, "Michelle Yeoh and Angela Bassett locked in a long embrace, their bare, muscle-bound arms wrapped around each other," The Associated Press’ tweet read.
The AP has deleted a previous tweet about the Oscars after party because it contained awkward wording and lacked context.

However, the netizens quickly took a notice of how awkward the wording of the tweet was and they started roasting The Associated Press thoroughly. The tweet was deleted soon after but not before it was saved as screenshots by people on Twitter. The Associated Press also released a statement on Twitter explaining why they have deleted the previous tweet but the netizens weren't ready to let this hilarious moment die down so soon.

Comedian David Angelo's tweet proved that he was curious about the follow-up of the "horny tweet" and Dr. Benjamin Janaway tweeted, "Tell me you want to be a romance author and not a journalist without telling me." @JillKrajewski joked and gave a new spin to the outlet's deleted tweet: "AP and the delete button locked in a long embrace, their bare, muscle-bound arms wrapped around each other."
"'Their bare, muscle-bound arms wrapped around each other' not what I would’ve focused on but you do you AP," musician Dan Le Sac tweeted.

It was literally your best tweet ever, BRING IT BACK

People might have been amused by the suggestively sapphic tweet of the news outlet but they quickly corrected themselves and replaced the tweet with another post about the after-party. "Vanity Fair’s annual post-Oscars party was full of moments of warmth and joy as Sunday night led into Monday morning after a drama-free Academy Awards, with stars embracing the celebration," the new tweet read.
Well, mistakes happen, even at the hands of experienced journalists, we guess. Though, the internet can't deny that they would have loved to know how the non-existent embrace between Yeoh and Bassett progressed. But for now, we pray for the person who came up with the "horniest" tweet that has been delivered by the AP in the longest time and we hope they still have their job.
