Who doesn't enjoy gorging on a large tub of popcorn while enjoying a movie in the theater? Well, apart from humans, this moose from Alaska also seems to enjoy the same. On the evening of April 19, NBC affiliate KTUU reported that Kenai Cinemas had an unexpected visitor. Ricky Black, the general manager at Kenai Cinemas told the affiliate that a young moose entered the theater around 9 p.m. and stayed for about five minutes. The moose appeared to sniff around the concession stand before walking over to a counter where it helped itself to an abandoned tray of popcorn, according to a surveillance video shared by the affiliate to Alaska's News Source. 

According to Black, the moose was able to enter the theater because a door was left open to allow cold air into the building. "Our popcorn had him enticed," Black said. "He was pretty focused on that. I guess he was tired of eating bark for the winter." He explained, "We prop the door open quite often during this time of the year because it's just so nice outside and you want to let some of that fresh air in." After its first snack, the moose turned to the garbage can for more treats, even getting its mouth and nose stuck inside a McDonald's Happy Meal box. Black and another Kenai Cinemas employee were able to direct the animal to the theater's exit after the loose moose had finished its meal. 

Black, who is from Arkansas, believes even though the young moose was harmless, the situation would have been different if an adult moose had entered the property.  Black told the affiliate, "I would not have the same reaction to a bull moose in rut season or a mama moose." Black explained that because he and his niece, who also works at the theater, are new to Alaska, the incident was exciting for them. He shared, "We both think this is just so awesome because we’re both just kind of fascinated with moose in general. Like, we're still in that new-to-Alaska phase." With prices of tickets and popcorn skyrocketing nowadays, we are glad to know that at least the moose got to enjoy free treats. 

If you are delighted by animals enjoying popcorn, you should know about the time a bear drank insane amounts of soda as well (if you don't already know about the incident). Recently a British Columbia woman captured photos and video of a bear paying a late-night visit to her home and raiding 69 cans of soda from her car at 3 a.m. She claimed the bear began with orange soda, progressed through cola and root beer and finally came to a halt when he reached the diet soda. These wild animals surely seem to be expanding their palate.
