Natalie Portman has had a prolific career in Hollywood ever since she was a teenager, and on The Late Late Show With James Corden, the host made the actress sum up her entire career within seven minutes. Portman appeared on the 25 April 2023 episode of the talk show, and surprised the audience in the Roll Call skit which summarized her almost three-decade-long career with the help of props, wigs and digitized background. The V for Vendetta actress proved how diverse her film roles have been ever since her debut in 1994.

The Oscar-winning actress and Corden had the live audience rolling with laughter as they started the fun segment with a scene from her film Garden State. She pretended to listen to The Shins and then made Corden wear the headphones that mimicked Zach Braff’s character from the original film. Then the duo was transported to a galaxy far far away while recreating scenes from Portman’s Star Wars film, The Phantom Menace with an elaborate headpiece where she played Padme Amidala. Corden and Portman took no time to quickly jump into the sequel Attack of the Clones to blast off their enemies.

They even recreated the events from Revenge of the Sith with Corden dressed as a goofy Anakin Skywalker and Portman pleading him to not give into the dark side as she gets dramatically killed. The skit continued as they covered scenes from films like The Other Boleyn Girl with Portman’s character getting hilariously beheaded and her head floating around the green screen.

Corden proceeded to shave Portman’s head, recreating a pivotal moment from V for Vendetta where she had a fake bald patch on. The duo didn’t even leave behind flicks like Annihilation, No Strings Attached, Anywhere But Here and Closer. Corden briefly paused the segment to inform that he isn’t familiar with Angel City when it popped up on the screen. Portman clarified that it is not a film. “We’re LA’s premiere national football team and there’s a three-part docuseries about the team starting May 16th on HBO,” she added.

When the segment resumed, the duo traveled virtually to France to recreate a scene for Paris Je T’Aime and back to the States for New York, Love You until they made it to her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan. Dressed in all black and a tutu, Corden pretended to be a ballerina before Portman stormed in and shouted at Corden to “get out of her room.” After that, Corden got playfully pushed into a fake mirror. The side-splitting segment concluded with the duo acting out a scene from her 1996 flick Mars Attacks as silly-looking green aliens floated around. The crowd present at the talk show erupted into applause and laughter.

According to TODAY, this is likely Corden’s last time doing these funny skits on stage as the show’s final episode aired on April 27, 2023. Over the years, Corden’s show has invited several notable celebrities to recreate their iconic films and each time it was a laughter fest.  We will surely miss Corden on the show and these funny reenactment skits.
