Weddings are supposed to be an auspicious occasion when the bride and groom are focused on each other as they recite their vows, exchange rings and walk down the aisle. But a viral video that has been doing the rounds on various social media platforms lately is making netizens question everything about the groom in the footage who can't seem to let go of his phone. A Tiktok video reposted by a Twitter user @Mahuntsu is getting a lot of heat for the groom's behavior.
The footage which has sparked a lot of debate online shows a groom engrossed in his phone as he walks alongside his newly-wedded wife after exchanging vows in a church ceremony. The bride might be in her element as she graciously greets and interacts with the guests with a warm smile but the groom seems aloof, digging into his phone with unparalleled concentration. Onlookers would have probably agreed with the caption of this video which reads: "My body is here with you but my mind is outside of town," as the comment section got flooded with negative criticism pointing out the groom's lack of respect.

Gaining over 39 million views, some of the Twitterati did not mince their words while shaming the groom. “I genuinely want to know what he was doing and why she wasn’t bothered," @I_Am_Winter wrote. @seashelldub chimed in, "She was absolutely bothered. Look at her face. She was trying to downplay it in public though to not make a scene." While the rest of us were left wondering about what compelled the groom to spend his special day on his phone, a few netizens had some hilarious guesses.
This man won’t ever get that moment back……. And she’ll never forget it. Damn shame

@ADS_ZAR mocked the video and suggested that the groom might have another woman he is having a fling with: "Sidechick: Hey, did you just post pictures of you getting married, what about our 5-year relationship ??? The Reply: Groom: Yes, I'm getting married but it's not that serious. You know I only love you, babe. I will see you tonight love." Another netizen even joked that "the couple just might file for a divorce before getting into the car from the church." A few onlookers on the internet even suggested that the "groom might be a crypto trader."

This behavior is totally not acceptable
In a similar case reported by The Indian Express, a groom went viral last year by working on his laptop as the wedding ceremony commenced and people slammed the post for promoting "toxic work culture." During the onset of the pandemic, people's work-life balance went haywire and it could probably be the reason behind these grooms being busy with their gadgets even during their own weddings. We sincerely hope this man can put down the phone for once so he can focus on his marriage.
This one is called red flag 🚩 pro max. But because we want weddings more than our mental health, she’s yet to testify to her ancestors how it’s going down 😂.
