Nick Cannon Forgets Daughter Onyx’s Name in Embarrassing Slip When Asked to Name All His 12 Children
It's hard to keep count when the number of children you have exceeds even the seven elves. Nick Cannon, 42 confessed he will have a "problem" to deal with after he forgot one of his children when asked to name all 12 of his children. The Masked Singer host admittedly "left out" daughter Onyx as he attempted to list all of his children in order of their birthdays for Howard Stern Show listeners.
The dad of 12 started answering by listing his kids' names. "We call Moroccan and Monroe Roc and Roe," Cannon, 42, said, beginning with his and Mariah Carey's 11-year-old twins. After mentioning his and Brittany Bell's two children, Golden, 6, and Powerful, 2, he added twins Zion and Zillion, 1, from his relationship with Abby De La Rosa, as well as his and Alyssa Scott's late son, Zen. "And then from there, Legendary Love," the host of Wild 'N Out said of his and Bre Tiesi's 9-month-old son. "Then there's [our 6-month-old], Rise." Powerful's name was later repeated by the former Nickelodeon star before adding his respective daughters with De La Rosa and Scott: Beautiful, 5 months and Halo, 3 months. The host Howard Stern interrupted Cannon to tell him he was "wrong" and had "missed" one.
Stern then pointed out that the actor "left out Onyx Ice Cole," the child born to Cannon and LaNisha Cole in September 2022, according to Page Six. When Stern joked about "poor Onyx," the All That alum pointed out that the omission would "create a problem," as he is constantly "in trouble" with his children's mothers. "Ah, no!" he said, "You know, I did. You threw me off because I was going in order!" Cannon and Cole, 41, kept her pregnancy a secret until last year when Onyx made her Instagram debut.
Cannon did remember all 12 of his children while sharing the inspiration for their names with the Shade Room last month. "With LaNisha, who is a strong, black woman and loves her chocolate-ness and all that, she had the name Onyx. And I was like, 'I'm with it. Let's get it!'" he shared while also mentioning that Ice is the child's middle name, which he came up with. Cannon once wrote on Instagram, "I pray and ask others to please project all criticism and cynicism towards ME and not the loving and precious Mothers of my children. [She] only deserves to revel in this moment of blissful joy of motherhood. Please give her that," after LaNisha received death threats.
Cole and Cannon haven't shared a photo of themselves together since their baby girl's dedication in October 2022, per Radar Online. The Price Is Right model who is now dating filmmaker Brian Kuba appears to stay away from Cannon and is not very fond of him. Not only did she call out the rapper's "fake" photos with his other kids in December 2022 but she also talked about getting out of "toxic" relationships, per Page Six. That same month, while co-parenting Onyx, she admitted that "teamwork makes the dream work." Cannon surely isn't a one-woman man but does portray to be quite a good dad with so much love for children. Before he gets more caught up in his whims and fancies like having a child with Taylor Swift (as he revealed on the same Stern show), we hope he remembers all his children's names.
