Man Watches 'The Office' on Flight Without Realizing His Co-Passenger is Actually 'Dwight Schrute'

One good thing that came out of the dreadful pandemic was that celebrities could get away without being spotted in public. The Office star Rainn Wilson enjoyed a moment of anonymity when a fellow passenger could not recognize him. Wilson was wearing a mask.

The hilarious spin-off happened when Wilson documented the passenger sitting near him, eating and coincidentally watching an episode of The Office. The video was comedy gold and garnered 1.1 million views on Twitter. LOL! Wilson was wearing a blue surgical mask and a hat. He subtly poked fun at the passenger who was oblivious to Wilson's identity. The text overlay on the video read, "When the person sitting next to you has no idea who you are." The gentleman wore big headphones on what appeared to be either a business or first-class flight.
Wilson first zoomed in the front camera to his face and then panned to show the passenger. Engrossed in watching The Office, the man had no clue that he was sitting beside one of the leading actors of the show. What a missed opportunity! Wilson continued to spin the phone around and ended the video by facing the camera and bulging his eyes wide at the absurdity of the situation. The man binged on unaware that he was being captured on camera by none other than Wilson.
Twitterati laughed as one user, @CallipygeanC, wrote, "I am absolutely terrible with facial recognition, I'll recognize a voice before a face sometimes. I also can't remember names very well. I'm not a general idiot, but that's an area of weakness. The most recent thing I saw him in was Star Trek." Another user, @KuragariNoKaze commented, "I hope this guy sees this. LOL." @itsMutaTV said, "So many celebs I’ve probably passed by and didn't even know it. Only met a few that I did recognize." Another Twitter user, @MaineP73 described the situation in the most Dwight Schrute fashion. She commented, "That right there is so Dwight-ish! Rainn is the best!"
Covid allowed celebrities to walk around in public and not be harassed. I'd still be wearing a mask as well.

I understand this. Wearing a hat and mask and out in the wild. The guy is focused on his food and entertainment. Bigger joke is if the dude knows and threw on the Office. That would be hilarious.

The hit sitcom, The Office aired on NBC for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013 and the star cast that included Rainn Wilson, Steve Carell, John Krasinski, B.J. Novak and Jenna Fischer became household names. The plot follows the office lives of Dunder Mifflin employees working at the fictional paper company's Scranton, Pennsylvania-based branch. And WIlson's character, Dwight Schrute is not only a paper salesman but also a devoted assistant to regional manager Michael Scott (Carell).
