This might sound like a scene from any animated Disney flick but actually, it’s not. A duck apparently got into a heated brawl with a dog and managed to survive despite sustaining injuries. For those who are wondering what is so special about this brawl then we must say that the duck is quite famous in the UK for a peculiar reason. According to Daily Star, the infamous beer-chugging duck named Star got himself into a fight with a dog and as a result, ended up injured.

Star has gained a bit of fame for waddling into local pubs along with his owner Barrie Hayman who resides in Chulmleigh, Devon. In some of the local drinking joints, pubs and clubs, the pint-loving duck is also provided his own stool to enjoy his drink in peace. Sometimes the bird can be seen wearing a bowtie as well. But little did anyone predict the duck to get into a dispute with Hayman’s pet dog at their home. Star obviously did not come out unscathed from the battle because his opponent had sharp canines and claws.

According to Bristol Live, the incident occurred several years ago when a pet dog named Maggie pounced on her feathered friend. The lucky duck managed to survive but was left with multiple injuries including a split bottom beak. The 69-year-old owner of the pooch and the duck revealed to the outlet that the dog was absolutely done with the bird’s drunken antics and hence, decided to attack him one day. The duck was rushed to the vet where he was administered painkillers.

"Star pushed his luck too far and Maggie snapped – splitting Star's bottom beak right down the middle,” Hayman said during that time, per the outlet. “He gave her a stare, then promptly stood on her back. It was not pretty and not nice. We were so scared we would lose Star." Hayman, who happens to be a former scuba diving instructor living with his wife Sue, had taken in Star from the incubator in 2011 when he was just days old. The bond between the man and the bird grew when he started taking the then-duckling Star in his top pocket to the local pubs where he got his first taste of ale and then probably got hooked.

"We had hours and hours of stress and waiting around. The vets are really pleased with his progress. He seems to be bouncing back nicely which is good. He just won't leave me and so we go everywhere together. I've not trained him to follow me. He just seems to like it and he is one fantastic duck. He loves to come to the pub where everyone loves him. He is such a personality and attracts so much attention," Hayman added. We don't know how far Star had pushed his luck in order to anger the pooch but we hope the bird can give up on alcohol for his own good in the future.
