The Plymouth police department tweeted that it took "great skill and determination" to rescue the bird.
Drunk men and their weird antics never go unnoticed by the media. Sometimes they break into places, say puzzling things, or steal bizarre objects. They even steal animals.
However, the star of this story is not a drunk man but a poor swan who was stolen by a drunkard. According to the Twitter page of Plymouth Police - D Section Response, a swan from Plymouth had the misfortune of getting stolen by a drunk man from the harbor.
The Twitter post—which amused over 325.7K people—was captioned: “Not your usual prisoner! Report of a swan being removed from the Harbor by a drunk male before it was involved in a collision on Mutley Plain. Taken to the vets where they are nursing it back to health.”

The police department surely took the search and rescue operation of the swan seriously. The bird was placed safely in the backseat of the police car.
The comment section of the post was flooded with several Twitter users who applauded the police department for bringing the swan safely back home. Some of the hilarious comments mentioned how this whole situation resembled a scene from Edgar Wright’s 2007 comedy film called Hot Fuzz. The Sandford Police cheered the rescuers of the swan and tweeted: “Well done team. You may well have prevented anyone from coming to serious harm by detaining that rogue swan." The Plymouth Police replied to them and wrote, "It took great skill and determination."
@_IanAdams expressed concerns about the safety of the swan and commented, "Brave if you intend to drive with it in the back. I think a cage might be the safest option. Good effort though!" Another tweet by @RAllan1984 wondered about the drunk swan kidnapper as well and wrote: "Hope the drunk male was in the other car being taken to a cell? Looks like a very well-behaved swan to be fair."
People also wondered how drunk one needs to be in order to nick a swan. Guess, we will never know how drunk that man was before stealing the swan from the harbor. Now that the bird is rescued, we sincerely pray for a speedy recovery of the poor swan as it is taken back to its natural habitat.
