Director and writer Quentin Tarantino has reigned in Hollywood for decades with his stylish films, and is famed for his peculiar on-set habits and his dynamics with the star casts of his projects. Uma Thurman, who starred in Tarantino's Kill Bill series, still has a close friendship with the Oscar-winning filmmaker and has a bunch of exciting stories to share with fans. During her appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in 2003, Thurman made a hilariously bizarre revelation about the director.

Like any other director who loves to keep their cast and crew under a tight leash of control, Tarantino's on-set behavior might not be the most offensive, but it is surely unique. According to Far Out Magazine, the strict director doesn't allow phones on set and goes to phallic lengths for punishing those who doze off during production hours. Thurman, who happens to be a frequent collaborator of Tarantino, elaborated on the methods of "revenge" taken by the director in order to control his crew on-set.

“He had a weapon of choice. There was a large dildo and we’re talking something like this," the actress said while holding her arm out to give an idea of the dildo's length. "I don’t know who this is made for. Whenever snores would be found in various corners of the set, it would be brought out like Jaws and then it is held in an ungodly horrific angle next to the face of the offending sleeper.” Even though Tarantino is known for his odd antics at work, this idea of punishment seems a bit too much.

“I was quite troubled by it. I found it quite unkind. There would be photographs taken and there was a wall of shame. I attempted to kidnap this wall on several occasions but it was kept under lock and key,” Thurman recounted. If people found Thurman's story unbelievable then you'll be delighted to know that the man himself has confirmed the story.  “To put it the exact way, it always bugged me when you shoot at night and see a crew member or an actor sleeping. So I came up with something where it wouldn’t bug me and if it did happen, I’m now happy about it," Tarantino said while appearing on another episode of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. "I introduced a new crew member to the set around Jackie Brown called Big Jerry,” he continued. “Big Jerry is a big purple dildo. It’s the second biggest dildo in the store. If somebody has fallen asleep, we come in with Big Jerry, as close to the mouth as humanly possible.”

According to GQ, Tarantino has opened up about why he loves including feet in his films. From Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the director’s films often include close-up shots of women’s feet, which has led to criticism. “I don’t take it seriously," he said. In fact, he thinks it’s "just good direction." 60-year-old Tarantino is about to start filming his next movie, titled The Movie Critic this fall, per Collider. We wonder who all are going to get the phallic punishment if they fall asleep on the production set. Or maybe Tarantino has come up with another innovative punishment idea now that this punishment is out in the open?
