Restaurant Serves Pasta in an Inverted Wine Glass to Be Fancy and It Has Absolutely Ruined Our Appetite

How far would you go to impress your customers? The food industry is renowned for being quite experimental with its servings. Many videos across social media platforms show hotels and restaurants that create a unique ambiance for their clients. The expensive dishes, fancy cutleries, and food items you have rarely heard of can either wow you or make you cringe. One such experiment in an Italian eatery surpassed everyone's expectations. Some are in awe but most are facepalming hard.

A video shared by the TikTok account, @restaurantlasicilia, is going viral by leaving the internet utterly confused. One imagines a divine ambiance, cozy lighting, and expensive crockery in an authentic Italian restaurant, where pasta arrives garnished with melted cheese and garlic bread. But hold your horses before you jump to conclusions.

This restaurant perplexed the internet by introducing a new way of serving pasta. The video shows them serving pasta in a wine glass. Yes, you read that right. The video was also shared on Twitter by @proyearner, and it's as bizarre as it can get. The clip shows a man bringing a glass plate with a wine glass placed upside down. At first, the viewers get confused but the clip continues with the waiter removing the glass. And what landed on the plate shocked everybody, including the customer. As he removed the glass, the pasta fell unevenly on the plate while the cheese sat on top of the glass.

The now-viral video has garnered 12.9 million views on TikTok, and tons of hilarious reactions followed. A Twitter user, @reinedespres_ says, "The complete lack of reaction by the guests helps." Another tweet by @sirenspoet shows how unimpressed the internet was by this "unnecessary act of serving." It says: "I have watched this a few times now, and I’d be sick just because the portion is so small. Knowing I could make this at home with 2 more servings on the stove, I don't know."

A lot of people on TikTok also emphasized how unnecessary it was and how the odd presentation just lacks the fusion spirit. They also expressed in comments that the eatery tried hard to be fancy but failed miserably. A TikTok user, @ericagrant6, asked, "What was the reason?" Another user, @sugabunny420, quipped, "The silent flop of cheese then immediately walking away." 

The internet can either make you an overnight star or troll you until your heart sinks. Any and every post is under constant scrutiny. The fine dining experience is not everyone's cup of tea and the video proved it. The inverted glass idea flopped badly. 

We hope the restaurant comes up with better dining ideas and doesn't fail its customers or the internet so miserably next time.
