Sam Smith’s Inflatable Latex Outfit Is The Butt of All Jokes After Wearing It on The Red Carpet

There's no doubt Sam Smith, the 30-year-old Unholy singer, has a way of commanding the room with their fashion choices. They dressed in a pure red ringmaster look at the Grammys last week raising eyebrows. It's also hard to forget Smith's SNL costume or I'm Not Here To Make Friends music video costume. This time, Sam Smith turned a lot of heads at the BRIT Awards by wearing this custom black latex inflatable Harri outfit. Harri is a previously viral brand known for its inflatable pants. The brand has achieved similar looks by using a seven-millimeter-wide inflation valve that pumps air through the outfit. Designer Harikrishnan said of the silhouette inspiration in 2020 per Newsbreak, "I got the idea when I was playing with my dog and I started thinking about how exaggerated objects must look from such a low angle."

Sam said about his stylist Ben Reardon for the INHTMF video in an Instagram post dedicated to him, "Your talent and your vision is unprecedented in my life. You have taught me so much and re-introduced me to art and creativity in a way that I never thought was possible. Thank you for helping me be brave and have fun at the same time." Sam also wore an anchor earring and completed the look with giant black block heels 'cause why not. Although they were nominated for Song of the Year for their duet Unholy with Kim Petras and for British Pop/R&B Act, what stole the show were a bunch of memes that were sparked by the outfit.

Ricky Gervais predictably didn't hold back from posting his opinion on the matter of the outfit. On Twitter, he weighed in by photoshopping his own head onto the Unholy hitmaker's body, implying jokingly that Smith was seeking attention by wearing the daring ensemble. "The Worst thing about being famous is the lack of privacy. I can’t even walk down the street without people looking and pointing," he sarcastically captioned his post.
