Snoop Dogg’s Hilarious Take On AI Has the Audience in Splits | “Are We in a F**king Movie Right Now or What?”

AI has advanced enough in the past few years to spook and puzzle everyone including rapper Snoop Dogg. The 51-year-old recently appeared in a panel held at Milken Institute's Global Conference in Beverly Hills, California on May 3, 2023 and expressed his hilarious opinion about the progress of artificial intelligence. AI has a firm chokehold in the world of technological developments and no one can deny that. AI has been widely exploited for fraudulent purposes and catfishing lately. According to UNILAD, in the last few weeks, an AI robot has been tipped to become the future of policing in America and AI was used to create a winning photograph at the World Photography Award.

No wonder Snoop Dogg is baffled by AI just like the rest of us. He sat alongside Shirley Halperin, Variety’s executive music editor and Gamma music company founder Larry Jackson where they discussed technology at the panel. Snoop appeared amused while expressing his thoughts about AI which caused the live audience to erupt into laughter. The rapper said that using chatbots like ChatGPT and Bing Chat reminds him of the time when he used to watch science fiction films as a kid.
“Well, I got a motherf**king AI right now that they made for me. This n***** could talk to me. I'm like, ‘Man this thing can hold a real conversation? Like real for real?’ Like it's blowing my mind because I watched movies on this as a kid years ago," he admitted on the panel. As the audience continued to laugh at his funny experience with using AI chatbots, he continued, “When I see this sh*t I'm like, ‘What is going on?’ And I heard the dude [Hinton], the old dude that created AI saying, ‘This is not safe, 'cause the AIs got their own minds and these motherf**kers gonna start doing their own sh*t,’ I'm like, ‘Are we in a f**king movie right now, or what?’ The f**k man?"
It’s all fun in games until they shit we see in movies happens.

Well, the rap legend isn't wrong about being worried about the advancement of AI when the AI godfather Geoffrey Hinton himself warned us about its potential dangers a while ago before resigning from Google this week. AI could be far more dangerous than we realize, Hinton said, as per the outlet. Well, that was definitely not the most positive farewell message from the Canadian cognitive psychologist and computer scientist but there is no stopping AI as it continues to make its way into multiple facets of our lives.
The rapper's rant on the prospect of AI is completely understandable since he comes from a generation that didn't grow up with access to the internet, advanced tech and artificial intelligence. “So do I need to invest in AI so I can have one with me? Or like, do y'all know? Sh*t, what the f*ck? I'm lost, I don't know,” he added at the end. Hopefully, we will see celebs invest in the development of AI in the near future but for now, we are safe from robots taking over humanity in the style of a sci-fi blockbuster.
