Sofia Coppola’s 'Grounded' Teen Daughter Makes Hilarious Video Defying Her Parents | “Make Vodka Sauce Pasta With Me”

Nepotism kids might get a lot of hate from the netizens and media alike but Romy Mars is getting a lot of love from the TikTok crowd. People who are still wondering about the identity of Mars, you’ll be surprised to know that she comes from one of the most prestigious families of celebrated filmmakers and actors. She is the 16-year-old daughter of Oscar-winning director and writer, Sofia Coppola and the granddaughter of legendary filmmaker, Francis Ford Coppola. Just like any other teenager, she got grounded for defying her parents and she thought a little TikTok video will be a fun thing to make since she is already grounded.
In the now-deleted Tiktok video which was fortunately preserved and reposted by a Twitter user @savbrads, we see the teenager filming her video from the kitchen counter. While preparing to cook up more mischief, the teenager reveals the reason behind her being grounded and what prompted her to film a video. "I’m grounded because I tried to charter a helicopter from New York to Maryland on my dad’s credit card because I wanted to have dinner with my camp friend," she shared. Sounds like Coppola and her husband, Thomas Mars had a valid enough reason to ground her.

Looks like the young lady has inherited the filmmaking genes from her family members and has started publishing videos on TikTok despite her mother’s displeasure. "I thought I would do this since I’m already grounded because my parents’ biggest rule is that I’m not allowed to have any public social accounts," she added. "They don’t want me to be a nepotism kid." We understand where her famous parents are coming from.
Even though the teen believed that the "TikTok won't make her famous," the video went viral and was reshared on several other social media platforms. Even though her mother might not be pleased to see this video, Mars surely won the hearts of the netizens with her chaotic cooking footage. According to The Guardian, Coppola strives to keep her children out of the spotlight which may be due in part to the backlash she received as a teenager for her role in her father’s film The Godfather III. She probably doesn't want her daughter to face the same pointless hatred on the internet.

"I don’t want them ever to be jaded," the director told the outlet. "I never saw the point of taking little kids to movie premieres and stuff. I just want them to have a childhood." Even though Mars' deleted video got viral anyway, a lot of netizens showed her love instead of hate with one joking how "she is going to be grounded until she is 30."

We would love to see the teen return to social media with positive and fun content someday since she seems to be going through a teenage rebellion phase. Hopefully, her sense of humor and tips from her filmmaker mom can pave a way for her to Hollywood soon.
