NBA superstars are really just like us! Turns out that 3-time NBA Champion Steph Curry reads his Twitter mentions during games for motivation. Former teammate Andrew Bogut shared the funny factoid about the sharpshooter on a recent episode of his podcast.
That’s right, Steph Curry is a 2-time NBA MVP but he’s just as petty as the rest of us! Respect!
Go off Steph!
Bogut and Curry played together for a few seasons during Golden State’s incredible championship run. Everyone knows that Steph and Kevin Durant were the stars of the team. Bogut still contributed quite a lot on the defensive front during his years with Golden State. He recalled one game in particular when Curry scrolled through Twitter during halftime of a game. The superstar struggled in the first two quarters but motivated himself after reading hate tweets online
“He’ll check his [social media] mentions at halftime, when he has a bad half. It’s the craziest shit I ever saw,” said Bogut. “Yeah, Steph, if he had a bad half, he would go on social media and then come out and drop 30 [in the second half].”
Taking on Twitter trolls by balling on the basketball court? We stan a petty king!
The Golden State Warriors are not the team they used to be, but it’s fun to relive the glory days of those iconic squads. Pretty much everyone hated Golden State once they picked up Kevin Durant after winning their first NBA Finals. They were so hated that most people forgot how mad they were about LeBron joining the Heat.
It’s really funny to know that all the hate showered upon Golden State over the years on the Internet actually motivated Steph to perform. Hey @Melondog9, Steph Curry is probably going to see this tweet during his game tonight and drop 30 just to spite you.
Never underestimate the power of pettiness.
