Star Wars is unarguably one of the biggest media franchises in the world and any fan would love to be a part of it any day. And recently, songstress Lizzo and comedian Jack Black got an opportunity to make a cameo appearance on the Star Wars spinoff show, The Mandalorian. Just like any other person who grew up with Star Wars and have emotions attached to it, the newly casted duo was thrilled to be a part of the Star Wars universe. They even expressed their joy by filming a Tiktok video where they can be seen all dressed up in their character’s attire. Lizzo and Black break out into a goofy dance, possibly celebrating the exciting opportunity they got. but there was a typical fanboy lurking in the shadows of the internet, all set to rain on Lizzo and Black's happy parade.

A devoted fanboy of Star Wars and self-proclaimed nerd penned down a post on Twitter, fuming about the casting choices of the show. The tweet by @ThePencilPimp read: "#StarWars isn't for us nerds anymore. We who respect the lore & would be in tears after being cast in one of the movies or shows. Star Wars is now for the popular kids who giggled & high-fived the bullies for stuffing you in their lockers. It's crashing and #Disney deserves it." The fellow straight-up declared that this is the ultimate downfall of Star Wars just because the singer and the comedian made a cameo appearance.

The internet was left divided over the cameo appearances from the duo as well. Some even described the whole episode as an "acid trip" and felt that "we won't miss anything even if we skip the scenes containing Lizzo and Jack Black." But there were supportive comments as well which justified the reason behind this unique casting choice. According to TMZ, Star Wars veteran icon Billy Dee Williams who is famed for playing Lando Calrissian vouched for Lizzo and Black. He shared his opinion about backing the casting choice wholeheartedly and pointed out how franchises are always coming up with new ways to grab a younger audience.

Meanwhile, Lizzo left a post on her Instagram page expressing how she has an emotional connection to Star Wars and how much this casting meant to her. "When I was a young girl my dad introduced me to Star Wars as a rite of passage. The trilogies are his favorite movies and quickly became mine," she captioned on the post. "When Jon Favreau called me and offered the role of The Dutchess I cried all day wishing my dad was still with us because he’d be so proud. Star Wars was a dream I never thought was possible," she added. With sensible netizens coming to the defense of the newly added stars of the show, the hater was quickly shut down despite the attacks from the rude fanboy.

Black and Lizzo appeared as a couple in the Pedro Pascal-led show where their characters were elected via direct democracy to run a planet in the recent episode of The Mandalorian. The addition of the duo was a delightful break delightful in the middle of what can be considered an intense television show.
