New research published in Proceedings of the National Academy of the Sciences of the United States of America examined the IQ scores of men born between 1962 and 1991, per U.S. News and World Report. Researchers found that scores decreased steadily among people born after 1975. Ole Rogeberg, the co-author of the study, told CNN, "The causes in IQ increases over time, and now the decline is due to environmental factors. It's not that dumb people have more kids than smart people, to put it crudely. It's something to do with the environment because we have observed the same differences within families."
