Tessa Thompson Stumps People with Wild Confession That She's Never Had a Hamburger | “THE LIES!"

Some of us are picky eaters and as adults, living on our own terms, we think there's no one really judging us for this habit. As children, we might have been reprimanded for it by concerned parents. But not anymore. However, Tessa Thompson shared a different experience. In a Vanity Fair Oscars party interview, she made some revelations about her eating habits and people on the internet couldn't help but raise their eyebrows at her. The Creed star confessed, "I've never had a hamburger in my life," to British media personality Amelia Dimoldenberg. When Dimoldenberg asked if she is vegetarian, the 39-year-old replied, "No. I eat other things, I've just never had a hamburger." She added. "It's the only thing extraordinary that I can still claim." 

Thompson also opened up about her disappointing experience "recently" eating her first egg. "I'd never had one of those ... I don't think they're great," she said, unimpressed. Dimoldenberg pointed out the versatility of eggs and how there is a multitude of ways they can be prepared and served. Thompson didn't really buy that explanation. "That's the problem with them. It's like, pick a lane." At last, Thompson confessed that she did enjoy potatoes, and Dimoldenberg chastised her for preferring the versatility of the root vegetable over eggs. "Are you telling potatoes to stay in their lane? I don't think so," Dimoldenberg sarcastically joked. Seemingly delicious mini Wagyu burgers were served at the post-Oscars Governors Ball, per TODAY. So, hopefully, she had her first one right after the interview with Dimoldenberg. 

People in the comments of the TikTok interview were flummoxed and couldn't fathom Thomposon's food choices. "No hamburgers? No eggs? In the words of Kandi Burress 'THE LIES!'" accused @jaxhillard. "In her defense, she did get her bachelor's degree from the Robert Pattinson School of Tall Tales and Fables," joked @hotdogmermaid. "Eggs I can see but never had a hamburger that's wild," commented @janetrialeonard. "I've never had a hamburger or egg either," confessed @oshanlaa. Twitter users didn't hold back from showing their concern for the picky eater either. 

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Thompson had previously discussed her aversion to eggs. She explained that her parents had failed to adequately explain the concept. She'd admittedly never eaten an egg in any form, including hard-boiled, scrambled, deviled, or omelet. "My parents never told me that the eggs that you eat would never become a chicken, and so morally, I was like, 'They should be chickens, someday,'" she told Fallon. Thompson also mentioned she didn't trust eggs at the time because they "shapeshift," and "it's suspect as a kid if you think about it." "I was so serious about it, I didn't even eat eggplant for the longest time because I thought it was connected. I was so committed," she said as the crowd burst with laughter. Well, with all those comments on eggs, Thompson has surely blown our minds.
