Singer pulls off hilarious prank by amping up crowd by teasing 'Oasis' song | “Definitely Got the Crowd Going”

Fans of the Swedish rock band, The Hives flocked one afternoon to hear their hit tracks during their ongoing world tour. It was a full house of the rock band's admirers waiting impatiently for the live performance. The anticipation of a thundering show made fans hoot and scream and clap. And a prank hit them out of nowhere, which left fans in stitches.

The band members including Howlin' Pelle, Nicholaus Arson, Chris Dangerous, Vigilante Carlstroem and Dr. Matt Destruction have been on a world tour to promote their upcoming album, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons. They posted the hilarious video clip on their official TikTok and Twitter accounts. It's a no-brainer that if you have gone for The Hives show, you'd expect them to sing their chartbusters. But in the video, the band asked the crowd if they loved their contemporaries. The band asked, "Who here likes the Arctic Monkeys?" Loud cheering voices could be heard saying, 'Yeah!'

The next question followed, "Anybody here ever heard of a band called Oasis?" The audience again cheered at the top of their voices while swaying their hands. "Do you like Oasis? Would you like to hear a song by Oasis?" asked the band. The audience's excitement doubled but not for long.

If any Oasis fan had their hopes up, the singer quickly revealed what they would be playing next. "That's cool but here's one by The Hives," joked the band. Fortunately, no fan in the audience created a scene or reacted negatively. One could only hear several chuckles followed by lots of cheers. Maybe a few sighs but the overall energy was contagious.

People flocked to the video on social media to leave their comments on the band's prank. The video received over 650K views on Twitter and over 540K on TikTok. A fan on Twitter, @dirksfadeaway declared, "Legend." Another user, @ChrisRyanPhotos expressed, "This is why I love you guys."

@copeylad quipped, "What a way to introduce Hate to say I told you so." Another fan on Twitter, @subtlearthquake praised the band for keeping things exciting and said, "Hahahahah, you know how to control the afternoon crowd."

A TikTok fan, @rod_o0_ mentioned, "I just wanted to be one of The Hives." @i.savannahhh admired, "You definitely got the crowd going. Loved your performance." @johnnymotorcycle joked, "Got them." The band's latest album, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons will be their sixth studio album and it is scheduled to release on August 11, 2023. According to The Hives website, the band's world tour will continue until November 14, 2023 and they'll be traveling from the UK to Sweden, Germany and the US, among many other countries. It may not have been the band's first prank as a fan, @w00l3r mentioned, "This was jokes from the first night in many." Whatever the case, the band has quite a massive fan following.
