This 1994 Episode of ‘The Simpsons' Left Us Stunned With Accurate Predictions About Trump’s Arrest and the ‘Barbie’ Film

The Simpsons have done it again. They have predicted some of the wildest things in the past which have turned out to be our present reality. The satirical cartoon’s eerie predictions about Donald Trump and the upcoming Barbie movie have left people gaping in awe. Some social media users have noticed a particular episode of the popular cartoon where they predicted the former president and Greta Gerwig’s film in the same episode.
A Twitter user @tea_shru wrote along with a clip of The Simpsons episode attached to the tweet: "The Simpsons getting their predictions right yet again! Barbie and Donald Trump BOTH!" As bizarre as all of it sounds and looks, this popular cartoon’s prophetic vision has been strangely accurate about numerous incidents so far.

According to New York Post, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Trump with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records on April 4 which marked the first-ever instance of a former president being indicted. However, the most interesting development in the whole situation just happened to overlap with the recent release of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's movie titled Barbie. Even though Trump’s arrest and the new movie’s release are not related to one another but they allegedly served as two plot points in a 1994 episode of the cartoon. An episode titled Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy is the infamous episode where Lisa Simpson’s character strives to make the creators of the Barbie doll produce a more feminist toy that empowers young girls like her.
This strange case of life imitating art has piqued the curiosity of countless netizens. In one of the widely circulated clips on social media, we can see the yellow-tinted Simpsons family watching a TV program where anchor Kent Brockman addresses Lisa’s campaign and also abruptly announces that the president has been arrested by the end of the new program "Though it was unusual to spend 28 minutes reporting on a doll, this reporter found it impossible to stop talking," the broadcaster deadpans while reading the news. "It’s just really fascinating news folks. Good night."

Well, it has created a sizeable amount of uproar on social media platforms as many people started joking about how "a crew member from The Simpsons show could have possibly been a time traveler." Others considered it the "wildest prediction of The Simpsons to date." But in reality, the creator of the show Matt Groening couldn’t have possibly imagined what the future would look like almost 30 years later. Along with Trump’s indictment, netizens also noted that the particular episode of the cartoon aired when the demand and popularity of Barbie were at an all-time high, as per the outlet. In 2019, Barbie’s parent company Mattel also brought a gender-neutral Barbie to the market which somehow made the prediction from the show legit. Greta Gerwig’s 2023 film is expected to bring forth a self-aware twist to the legend of the famous doll, just like Lisa Simpson wanted.
Well, we might not be able to unlock the mystery behind the clairvoyant powers of a cartoon show but this incident makes us surer of the show's extraordinary powers. We are only waiting to see what else The Simpsons has to offer in terms of future predictions because it has made successful predictions about a number of things now, from Capitol Riots to Kamala Harris becoming vice president.
