Woman Spends $12,500 on Cat’s Treatment Before Vet Confirms There's Nothing Wrong With Him | "He's Just Weird"

This kitty got his owner freaked out with his weird behavior and breathing pattern but it was just a false alarm.

Salford music student Abigail Laker, 23, was freaked out of her mind when she found her cat behaving weirdly, or let us just say, unlike other cats. Being a pet parent basically means you need to put in almost the same level of effort and expenditure which goes into raising a human child. And Abigail was ready to fork out insane amounts of money just to figure out what exactly is wrong with her cat named Moose. But when Moose was taken to the vet and went thoughts several tests, Abigail got an answer she didn’t expect to hear. The vet just declared that Moose was weird and there is nothing physically wrong with him.

Abigail had suspected something sinister might have taken over her cat when she observed his weird breathing pattern. Could her cat get possessed by some spirit? Turns out it was neither the spooky spirits nor medical complications but Moose is just a little bit quirky. Abigail shared a video on Tiktok, revealing the towering bill that she had to pay for her cat and the video went viral stacking over one million views.

Laker got attached to her furry friend last year and decided to give Moose a forever home. But the cat turned out to be a bit peculiar and that raised Abigail’s concerns. "At first I didn't realize there was a problem. I took her to the vet to get spayed and the vet noticed that she would breathe fast so they asked me if she usually did that as it could be something serious,” Moose’s owner revealed. "They told me they would do some investigating as they didn't want to put her under if there was a problem. I just thought it was normal as I have had cats before but Moose is my first cat since moving out," she added.

Abigail had owned dogs before and she was aware that dogs pant. So she didn’t think it was weird for a cat either but when the vet told her to keep a track of Moose’s breathing pattern, that’s when she got baffled. As per the VCA Animal Hospitals, cats usually take 15 to 30 breaths per minute but Moose wasn’t. “I noticed how much she did it," the 23-year-old said. "Sometimes she would be breathing at 80 breaths a minute. I was having to rush her to the vet when it would be over 100 a minute.”

Laker ended up paying £7,000 (AUD $12,500) over several months of stressful tests, hoping that she gets an explanation for her cat’s peculiar behavior. "A specialist vet ended up diagnosing Moose, he basically told me that Moose is just a bit weird,” Abigail said. "Which was a relief, but it did cost $12,500 for them to find that out." Thankfully, the freaky feline is completely fine and was possibly trolling her owner all along. We can never know the real reason. "The vet said they have done every test they can and Moose's breathing has nothing to do with her heart or lungs and it's probably just behavioral,” she added.

Some comments on TikTok even joked how "Moose is just a cat who decided to act like a dog" whereas some said that "Moose has the main character energy." Rest assured, Moose is leading a lavish life where his owner is ready to pull out thousands of dollar bills for him.
