Hank Aaron, MLB legend and longtime home run king, passed away Friday at the age of 86, according to CBS in Atlanta.
The baseball all-timer broke MLB’s all-time home run mark on April 8, 1974, with number 714 — surpassing the iconic Babe Ruth for the title.
When he finally hung up his cleats, Aaron had racked up a total of 755 home runs. His record was eventually surpassed by Barry Bonds, but due to the Giant’s PED use, many still consider Henry Aaron baseball’s true homerun king.
Needless to say, the world is taking the sad news pretty rough. An outpouring of love and support has already flooded the internet, as can be seen below.
