Disgruntled Visitor Shares Ludicrous Post After a Regretful Trip to Helvellyn Mountain | “Far Too Hilly”

A visitor gave the majestic Helvellyn Mountain a one star rating, saying the views are mediocre and the facilities for tourists below par.

Traveling to far-off destinations may be thrilling but there are often hardships involved. Those who love adventures go prepared to face any challenge en route to their destination, especially when they are hiking or trekking. But one traveler has complaints about his recent trip to England's third-highest mountain, Helvellyn.

Helvellyn is a walker's favorite spot, and they often flock to the area to soak in the natural beauty. People choose to take the Striding Edge route to the summit. But this guy here considers his visit as the "worst experience of his life." He was so disgruntled that even Helvellyn's scenic beauty could not cheer him up. Poor guy!

Helvellyn is roughly 450 million years old, and those who reach the top are swept off their feet by the spectacular view. Unfortunately, this man paid no heed to the panorama of the mountain, but took to TripAdvisor's review section to write his negative review, reported Mirror. Two reviews showed that someone did not turn out to be a fan of the mountain's beauty. The comments blasted the peak for not having facilities for hikers and seemed unimpressed by the views. The one-star reviewer wrote, "Far too hilly, spoiled a nice walk." He continued, "There were also no facilities at the summit, not even a coffee shop."

The Lake District is renowned for its beauty and lake valleys, and UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. But you cannot make everyone happy, and TripAdvisor has some bizarre reviews of the place many are fans of.

This man is not the only disappointed visitor. In January, a lengthy one-star review read, "I recently hiked Striding Edge in the Lake District, and it was the worst experience of my life." The hiker seemed disappointed by his decision and shared his predicament during the trip. "Firstly, I had to go to the bathroom halfway through the hike, and there were no facilities. I ended up having to go behind a rock, and it was extremely inconvenient." He stressed the need of having a proper toilet at the tourist spot above everything else. "I mean, how could they not have a single toilet on this entire hike? Do they expect people to just hold it in or something? Ridiculous."

Oh! Also, his nagging girlfriend just added to his troubles. We feel you, man. "To make matters worse, my girlfriend was complaining the entire time about how hard the hike was and how she wished we had just stayed at the hotel. Ugh, some people just cannot handle a little bit of exercise."

The matters went off-hand when other hikers enjoyed their trip, and it burned him. "Secondly, all the other hikers on the trail seemed to be annoyingly competent and made the hike look way too easy, bunch of smug gits." He even referred to the mountain views to be mediocre. "And to top it all off, the views from the top were not even that impressive. I mean, seriously? That is all we get after all this hard work? A mediocre view of some hills and a lake? I have seen better views from my backyard. The man annoyingly concluded, "I would not recommend this hike to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and stay at home."

But it seems the positive reviews surpassed the negative ones. Helvellyn received five stars from many other visitors. As one five-star reviewer shared, "I really loved climbing this mountain. The first half of the ascent is pleasant, and It was not super strenuous."
